The prelimin- aries will take place at five o'clock in the afternoon, with the final judging scheduled for six o'clock. All the girls entered in the contest are asked to register with Mrs. Donna Thiel at the main festival office by three o'clock in the afternoon. Mrs. Thiel reports that seven or eight girls have already been entered in rhe competition, and slie will still accept entries up until noon Saturday. Girls may enter the contest either with or without a sponsor. Anyone wishing more informatiot should contact Mrs. Thiel at 236-4060. An outstanding panel of judge: has been lines up for this year's contest, and two of them will be Mrs. Anita Byrne, of CFPL Radio and. Al Cherny. Last year': Queen, Miss Judy Mudge, wi11 be present to assist in the crown- ing. Also present for the day will be the Michigan Bean Queen, Miss Gail Trombley, of Reese, Michigan . Miss Trombley will also take part in the crowning of the Queen. 0 COMBINATION BEAN SALAD 2 cups cooked or canned green beans 2 cups cooked or canned wax beans 1 -14 oz.' can lima beans, drained 1-14 oz. can kidney beans, drain- ed 1 cup thinly sliced celery 1/4 cup chopped green onions 1-12 oz. can luncheon meat, diced 11/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp pepper 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup French dressing. Make sure vegetables are well drained. Combine with luncheon meat, seasonings and dressing and toss lightly. Chill. 8 to 10 servings. PEPPER RING BEANS 3 1/2 cups canned beans 1/3 cup chili sauce or ketchup 1 T prepared mustard 1 T Worcestershire sauce 4 green pepper rings 1/2 cup grated cheese Heat oven to 350 deg. Combine first 4 ingredients in 1 ggart cas- serole. Arrange pepper rings over top; fill centers with cheese. Bake 30 rein. or till hot. 4 to 6 servings.
