MARKET PROVES POPULAR - Each week the Zurich Farmer's Market proves to be more popular
than the week previous, and this past Saturday morning saw the largest crowd of shoppers out since

Accidents in area
On Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. a
car driven by Joan McAlpine,
R. R. 3, Ailsa Craig, skidded out
of control on Highway 4 south of
Exeter and collided with a hydro
pole guy wire. Damage was
estimated at $75 by Constable
Don Mason.
On Wednesday at 5 p. m.
a car driven by Patricia Ali,
London, skidded out of control
at Oakwood Park and collided
with a tree. The driver sustained
minor bruises. Damage was
estimated at $750 by Constable
Bill Lewis.
Also on Wednesday at 0:50
p.m. a car driven by Marl< Hey-
wood, R.R.2, Exeter, skidded
out of control on Highway 83
in Dashwood and collided with
a house and a parked car owned
by Theo Vanronnpey, of Dash-
wood. Heywood and his passeng-
er Terry MacDonald received
lacerations in the accident.
Total damage was estimated
at $2600. by Constable Bill
Lewis,
Also on Wednesday a motor-
cycle driven by John Webster,
R,12.1, Hay, skidded out of
control during a heavy rain on
Highway 4 west of Exeter. Web-

received a bruised leg.
Damage was estimated at $100.

On Saturday 'at 12:45 a.m.
a car driven by a juvenile skid-
ded out of control on concession

Hensall, collided with a parked
car owned by Brian Campbell,
R.R.1, Exeter, on the main
street of Hensall. Damage was
estimated at $1400 by Constable
Dale Lamont,
Also on Saturday at 5:45
p. m. a truck driven by James
Meadows, Arkona, skidded out
of control on concession 14-15,
Stephen, south of Highway 83.
The driver and his passenger
Frank James, received cuts and
bruises. Damage was estimated
at $1200 by Constable Al Quinn.
A quantity of kitchen utensils
were taken from the Club Alb-
atross this week. Several knives
valued at $60 were stolen.
Three of the knives were recov-
ered. Three area men have
been charged with theft. Con-
stable Bill Lewis investigated.
A set of crutches were stolen
from a resident of the Hensall
Hotel when the owner left them
in the lobby. Anyone having
knowledge of the whereabouts
of these crutches are asked to
contact the Exeter detachment
or return them to the hotel.
A car owned by Dennis Mac-
Donald, Huron Park, was stolen
from his residence. The car
was recovered a few hours later
near Clinton.. Two area youths
will be charged with the theft.
Constable Don Mason is invest-
igating.
Counterfeit $50 bills have
been passed in the Exeter area.
Local merchants are advised to
examine carefully any bills
of this denomination. If in doubt
about any $50 bill, contact the
Exeter detachment immediately.
Several bicyclists in the
Exeter area have attached to
their bicycles red flags on long
aerials to make themselves more
visible on the highway, This
is a good safety measure and
more bicyclists could copy this
type of warning system.
