Members of the Clinton Christian Reform Church formed a choir for the Sunday evening song service led by Aire Van Der Ende with devotions by Rev. Beukema. Twenty-nine residents were honoured on Wednesday after- noon at the July birthday party sponsored by the Brussels and Cranbrook Women Institutes. Mrs. Yvonne Knight introduced the program which included a piano duet by Sharon and Rose- anna Engel with the "Brussels Stompers" rythm band playing and singing several old favour- ites. Members of the band are Wilma Hemingway, Peggy Cud - more, Alberta Smith, Leona Armstrong, Alma Watson, Leona Connelly and Lulu Kerr. A vocal trio, Dianne Cox, Kathy Hart and Richard Knight sang the closk song and a quint- et, Sharon, Roseanne and Tracy Engel, Brenda and Karen Knight sang and acted the old number "Mothers Old Kitchen Apron." The woman who measures the pieces of a new pattern and com- pares them to her own measure- ments before cutting into the fab- ric will not be affected. But the woman who follows the pattern as it is printed, because a size 12 fit her six months ago, may find a surprise at the waist- line. The celebrants were presented with a gift and the appreciation of residents was extended to the ladies by Mrs. Mary Johnston who celebrated her 99th birthday this month. Cup cakes and lemonade were served to one hundred and fifty residents and guests by the inst- itute members who made a tour of the building to visit with res- idents from their area. The Rythm Band from Goder- ich Psychiatric l-Iospital with Gordon Harrison as leader and accompianist provided the Family Night program. Shorty Munro was M. C, for the evening as well as singing a solo, gave impressions of the bag pipes and hawaiian guitar. The band played a number of old select- ions and dances.
