Beukema.
Twenty-nine residents were

sponsored by the Brussels and
Cranbrook Women Institutes.
Mrs. Yvonne Knight introduced
the program which included a
piano duet by Sharon and Rose-
anna Engel with the "Brussels
Stompers" rythm band playing
and singing several old favour-
ites. Members of the band are
Wilma Hemingway, Peggy Cud -
more, Alberta Smith, Leona
Armstrong, Alma Watson, Leona
Connelly and Lulu Kerr.
A vocal trio, Dianne Cox,
Kathy Hart and Richard Knight

The woman who measures the
pieces of a new pattern and com-
pares them to her own measure-
ments before cutting into the fab-
ric will not be affected.
But the woman who follows the
pattern as it is printed, because
a size 12 fit her six months ago,
may find a surprise at the waist-
line.

A fire extinguisher in your car
is a good safety precaution.
The dry chemical type is
preferred; it can be used on
any kind of fire, and does not
create toxic gases.
When is a convertible not a
convertible? When it's a car
with a large roof window that
can be opened, but will block
excess heat and brightness
when closed.
It's hard to get into today's
cars without a key. Keep c
record of your car key's serial
number with you. Better yet,
keep a spare set of keys!
A more expensive battery may
be cheaper in the long run, if
you get more starts from it.
More and more families, es-
pecially in suburbia, find they
need as many as three cars to
keep the family mobile.

The celebrants were presented
with a gift and the appreciation
of residents was extended to the
ladies by Mrs. Mary Johnston
who celebrated her 99th birthday
this month.
Cup cakes and lemonade were
served to one hundred and fifty
residents and guests by the inst-
itute members who made a tour
of the building to visit with res-
idents from their area.
The Rythm Band from Goder-
ich Psychiatric l-Iospital with
Gordon Harrison as leader and
accompianist provided the
Family Night program. Shorty
Munro was M. C, for the evening
as well as singing a solo, gave
impressions of the bag pipes
and hawaiian guitar. The band
played a number of old select-
ions and dances. This has be-
come a very popular program
with the residents and we hope
to have another visit from this
group in September.
