ALL ABOUT BAYFIELD INTERESTING HAPPENINGS IN ONTARIO'S PRETTIEST VILLAGE WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boyce, Goshen Line, celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on Sunday, when members of their family gathered at their home for a surprise barbecue. Mr, and Mrs. Boyce were mar ried at the Presbyterian Church Manse, on July 19, 1924, by the Rev. F.W.K. Harris , in London, Ontario. The couple were raised and educators on the Goshen Line and following their marriage they took up farming on the Goshen Line where they still reside. They have a family of three daughters, Viola, Mrs. Haskell, of Hanover; Grace, Mrs. Tom Young, of Goderich and Mary, Mrs. Don Garner, of Vanastra; also five sons, Harvey, London; Jim, Bayfield; Clayton, Goder- ich; Ken, Goshen Line and Har- old at home. They have twenty grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Many friends relatives and neighbours called to offer congratulations; among them was Mr. William Pollock of Saskatchewan, a former neighbour. The couple were the recipients of many lovely gifts from their family and friends. Both are in good health and enjoy life to it's fullest. Mrs. Boyce will be remembered by many readers for her musical ability, as she along with her brother John, played the piano for dances even before her mar- riage; and up until just a few years ago was still active in that respect. May we add our congratulat- ions for many more happy years together. Guests for two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Don Lance were their son William and Miss Veronica Quarry of Boston, Mass., and visiting for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Reed of Troy, Michigan. Mrs. Robert Davidson, Wind- sor, was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pounder for the weekend. Miss Loretta Townsend, University of Guelph, is visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Scotchmer. Weekend guests with the Scotchmers were their son Michael and a friend of Guelph. Mr. and Mrs. Art Latimer, Christy and Bill and Miss Ruth Fuhrmann of Toronto, spent the weekend with the lady's mother Mrs. G.L. Knight. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Wehner, Saginaw, Michigan, visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sturgeon. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Benne- wies, Chris, Greg and Lisa, Seaforth, were Sunday visitors with the E.W. Erickson family. Mr. and Mrs, Ted Heath and Tim, Dawson Creek, B.C. are visiting their respective moth- ers, Mrs. Vera Heath and Mrs. Ella Castle and other relatives in the vicinity, Mr. and Mrs. E. Squire of Mitchell were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker. Mr. Rick Westlake, Kitchener, is holidaying for two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Westlake, Catherine and Paul. Miss Susan Abercrombie, Meaford, is staying with the Lloyd A. Westlake family while working as a Youth Co- ordinator at the Pinery Provin- cial Park and Ipperwash Provin- cial Park. Mr. Fletcher McLaughlin, Meagan and Alfie, Toronto, were weekend guests with Mr. and Mrs. Fred LeBeau. Visiting Saturday with the LeBeaus were Mr. Leonce Cadieux of Windsor and Mr. Clarence Le - Beau, of Clinton. Mrs. Margaret Garrett was in Windsor for three days attending an F.H.R. Hobby Product Convention at the Sheraton - Viscount Hotel. During her absence her mother, Mrs. Tom Handy, of Seaforth was with her children, Norma, Diane, and John. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Johnston Grimsby are holidaying at Deer Lodge Park. While here they visited with his cousin, Mrs. Lloyd Westlake and family. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mc- Leod, David and Cameron of Stoney Creek, spent the week- end with her mother, Mrs. E.B. Robinson at the Albion Hotel. Guests registered at the Albion for this week include, Dr. G.A. and Mrs. MacPherson, Water- ford; Mr. and Mrs. G.G. Myer, Toronto; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Gray, London; Dr. C.L. Roe Jackson, Guelph, and Prof. Jack Bauden of Hamilton. A group of ladies Ilene Biers, Kitchener, Elva Coughlin, At- wood, Lois Elliott and Norma • Stewart, R. R.2, Ripley visited with Milvena Erickson on Wed- nesday last and following din- ner at the Dominion Hotel in Zurich, attended the much enjoyed Carlton Show Band performance in the Zurich •Arena Birthday celebrations were held for Keith Pruss and Morris Sauve at the Pruss cottage on Saturday evening, when 25 rel- atives and friends gathered for a barbecue. Those present incl- uded Mrs. Myrtle Parker; Fred and Maude Weston; Cathie, Johnny and Jamie Sauve; Don and Jackie Johnston, Ricky and Christine, Eric and Evelene Earl, all of Bayfield; Don and Elaine Dinel and Tracy; Larry and Janice Krupa; Glen Pruss, all of London; Norman and Pat Cooper, Mount Clemens, Mich- igan; and Ken and Mary Jane Weston, Farmington, Mich., as well as immediate family mem- bers. Mr. and Mrs. R.I. Jenkins, Bill and Mary, proprietors of the Woodhome Motel, returned Sunday from a holiday spent in the Peterborough area on Marble Lake. Summer visitors with Mr. and Mrs. R. Mrs. B.A. Quigg, Kim and Joey, London were with Mr. and Mrs. Eric Earl for the week- end. Visiting this week with the Earl's is his mother Mrs. W. Earl, of London. President, Mrs. Eric Earl, of the Anglican Church Women of Trinity Church, reported a very successful Tea and Bake Sale held Saturday afternoon in the Parish Hall. Pouring tea for the event was Mrs. James Reddoch. During the tea and bake sale, a draw was made on the Trinity Church Ladies Guild Butterfly Quilt and was won by Mrs. J.E. French, of Mitchell. Mr. Norman F. Cooper, Mount Clemens, Michigan, spent the weekend at his Village About people Mr. Peter Dewar, of Blantyre, Scotland, is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Denornme. Mr. Dewar worked for the Denomrne family 40 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Turkheim returned from a visit with their son, Richard, at Ottawa. They toured Gatineau Hills in Queb- ec, and Moorside, the estate of the late Mackenzie King. !residence with his wife Patricia.
