"Check the cables before the equipment is put into use, " he emphasizes. If your bale elevator has been in storage for quite a while, or if the cables have been exposed to weathering or extensive use, the metal may have deterioratec to the point where it is danger- ous to operate. As easily as a pair of scissors cuts through paper, a snapping cable can sever limbs. Hoist cables should also be carefully checked for fraying and worn areas. Replace the cables if necessary. Under the stress of a workload, worn cable! may break. The elevator or silo unloader could collapse, poss- ibly trapping someone under- neath. 0 Willert reunion held Sunday at Exeter Park The 28th Willert Reunion was held at Riverview Park, Exeter, on July 1, with about 65 attend- ing.
