Married in Clinton church
NEILANDS - POSTMA
Clinton Christian Reformed
Church was the setting of the
June S nh wedding when Tina
Postma and Norman Neilands
exchanged vows, Rev. Jerry J.
Hoytema, Sarnia, brother-in-
law of the bride, officiated dur-
ing the double -ring ceremony.
The bride is the youngest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bart
Postma, R.R.4, Clinton and the
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Neilands, Hensall.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a full length
gown of polyester crepe appli-
qued with imported lace. It was
styled with a high neckline,
empire waist and long, full
sleeves closing with a cuff. A
long train fell from the back
of the gown. She wore a four -
tier veil with a Juliette style
headpiece, and carried a bouq-
uet of pink sweetheart roses,
white starbust mums and blue
stephanotis.
The matron of honour, Mrs.
Minnie Buruma, London, sister
of the bride, wore a formal

Mrs. Bruce B. Walker, the
former Ann Cochrane, Hensall
passed away at Queensway Nurs-
ing Home, Hensall, July 3,
1973 in her 81st year.
She was the wife of Bruce B.
Walker, Hensall, sister of Agnes
Cochrane and Mrs. Henry (Eliz-
abeth) Fuss, Hensall and was
predeceased by three brothers anc
five sisters.
Funeral service was held July
3, from the Bonthron Funeral
Home, Hensall with Rev. W.
rarvis officiating.
Interment was in Hensall Uniot.
Cemetery.

length gown of flocked polyester
in a blue flowered pattern over
blue lining. It was styled with
bell sleeves, empire waistline
and a long flared skirt.
The bridesmaids were Mrs.
Ann Walters, Kippen, sister
of the bride and Miss Edda Steeg,
stra, Clinton, a close friend.
The flower girl was Suzy Neil -
ands, sister of the groom. They
wore dresses identical to that
of the matron of honour. All
carried bouquets of blue, pink
and white starbust mums with
blue streamers and also mums
in their hair.
Tom Neilands, Hensall,
brother of the groom was best
man. Allan Reid and Ray Arch-
er of Hensall, both close friends
of the groom were the ushers.
The ringbearer was Bert Sjcarda,
nephew of the bride.
The wedding supper, recept-
ion and dance were held at
The White Carnation, Holmes-
ville.
Prior to her marriage the bride
was honoured at showers given
by Miss Bonnie Tyndall, Clinton,
one given by Mrs. Alita Postma
and Mrs. Ann Walters, and
another shower given by Mrs.
Mary Gibbings,
The newlyweds are residing
in Mount Forest,

The 72 graduates of the Grade
8 class at Huron Centennial
School, Brucefield, were honour
ed last Tuesday evening with a
dinner attended by their parents
and teachers.
Dianne Oldfield of R, R, 4,
Seaforth, was named top acad-
emic girl and Bev Cantelon,
of R,R,5, Clinton, was runner-
up.
Dale Parsons of R,R.2, Kippen
was top academic boy and Rober
Heard of Bayfield, runner-up,
Best all round girl was Sharon
Finlayson, of R. R. 3, Kippen,
and Debbie Rose of R.R.4, Sea-
ford' was runner-up.
Best all round boy was Robert
Heard of Bayfield, and runner-
up was Jeff Allan of R.R.1, Bruct
field,
The Fred Chapple memorial
award was presented by his son
Wayne Chapple, of Petawawa,
to Debbie Consitt, of R.R.3,
Kippen the student who has done
the most for sports in Grade 8.
A staff award to the student
who has contributed much to
sports in Grade 8 went to Kathy
Lawrence, R.R,4, Seaforth,
The Ralph Whitmore memor-
ial award was presented by his
sister, Karen Whitmore, R. R. 4,
Seaforth, to Janice Pepper,
R.R,1, Varna, as the most imp-
roved student during the 1972-73
school term.
The Ruth Hayman Elliott mem
orial award was presented by
Mrs. Grant Turner of Bayfield
to Louise Martens of Bayfield
as the top academic student in
the Bayfield area.
Awards for Inter -county cross
country achievement, senior
winners, were awarded to Nancy
Dietz, R,R,3, Seaforth and
Bill Stephenson of R, R.1, Varna.
The award of excellence from
the Federal Government, rec-
reation Canada, went to Nancy
Dietz and Janet Haney, of R, R,
4, Seaforth, Other awarded
these certificates for excellence
were Larry Coughtrey, R, R. 2,
Kippers; Robert Heard, Bayfield;
13111 Stephenson, R. R. 1, Varna;
Tom Johnston, R.R,1, Varna;
Bill Stoll, R.R.3, Kippen; and
Craig Taylor, R,R.1, Varna.
The top music awards went
to Wayne Gingerich, of R.R.2,
Zurich, with Jeff Allan as run-
ner-up.
Certificates for excellence in
French were presented to Louisa
Martens, Bayfield, Dianne Old-
field of R.R.4, Seaforth, and
Dale Parsons of R.R,2, Kippen.
Certificates were presented
to 12 outstanding academic
students Laura Argyle, R, R. 5,
Clinton; Lois Brandon, of Varna;
