AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
At a recent meeting of the
Bayfield Agricultural Society
plans were discussed for the
upcoming Fall Fair on August
31 and September 1. The Old
Time Country Theme will be
continued this year with addit-
ional exhibits and contests.
Instead of the regular Pet Show,
a Fun Dog Match will be held
this year, and there will be a
Pigeon Show as well.
Plans were made for complet-
ing the fencing of the fair
grounds and the gate barrier has
received a new padlock. Perm-
ission was given to St. James
Church Middleton for the use of
the Fair Grounds for a bar -b -cue
on August 15.
The newly organized ladies
section of the Fair Board held
a meeting also with the Chair -
man Mrs. E. Yoe in charge.
The ladies are selling tickets
for a draw on an afghan to be
held September 1. The afghan
is on display at Mrs. Logan's
Kaleidoscope shop in Bayfield.
The ladies are planning to
name an over all winner of the
ladies section of the fair this
year based on points won by
the entrant.
There will be a Bingo on the
Friday evening in the arena.
The Fair board will again oper-
ate a refreshment booth and all
sections appear to be prepared
for another successful Fair this
year.
