the setting on June 9 at 5 p. m.
for the marriage ceremony of
Mary. Ellen Margaret Mock and
Gary Arthur Berscht. The bride

United Church
Ron Mock, Hensall, and the
groom is the eldest son of Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Berscht of Elmira.
The church was decorated witt:
candelabra and arrangements
of white gladioli and yellow
shasta mums. The officiating
minister was Rev. Donald Beck.
The soloist, Miss Marg Ellig-
son of Waterloo sang "The
Wedding Song, " "The Lord's
Prayer" and "Climb Every
Mountain." She was accompan-
ied by Mrs. Jack Turkheim.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride looked radiant
in a Victorian styled gown with
lace overlays and ruffled accents
The bodice inserts were edged
with ruffles similar to the cuffs.
A deep ruffle around the skirt
was headed with scalloped lace
appliques. The lace train fell
from a flat bow and had a sep-
arate lace applique. She wore
a white picture hat with daisy
appliques, The small veil was
held by a large rose. She carr-
ied a bouquet of white shasta
mums, yellow carnations,
stephanotis and baby's breath.
Miss Linda Mock was her
sister's maid of honour and bride•
smaids were Misses Pam Taylor,
Nancy Forrest and Julie Mock,
sister of the bride. They were
gowned alike in printed white
flocked nylon over yellow with
short puffed sleeves, round
neck line and self tie back.

News of Grand Bend and area

The Huron Hope Nursery
School for Handicapped child-
ren at Grand Bend held their
closing exercises with a picnic
at the school which fifty people
sat down to dinner on Wednes-
day at noon. Volunteers from
Thedford, Ipperwash, Exeter,
Zurich, Grand Bend and area,
Parents, Board members, teach-
ers and children composed the
gathering. Miss Ella Moriock,

A business meeting of the
Women's Missionary Society
of Carmel Presbyterian Church
was held Monday evening in
the church. The meeting was
opened with a prayer by the
president, Mrs. Rachel Schwalm,
Minutes of the previous meet-
ing and 83rd anniversary were
read by the acting secretary,
Mrs. Emma Campbell. Roll call
was answered with a favourite
grace said at home. Visits to
the sick and shut-ins were report-
ed to have been made.
Least Coin Collection was
taken and Circle of Prayer art-
icles were read by the president.
Members agreed to supply the
children's Explorers group with
a new manuel book. Worship
and study for September will
be given by Mrs, Elizabeth
Faber and Mrs. Jean Snell.
Members packed a twelve
pound parcel and mailed to a
missionary, Miss Pauline Brown,
Christian Hospital, Jobat, M,P,
Via Dohad, India, consisting of
small plastic and glass bottles
filled with brown sugar, absorb-
ent cotton, buttons, safety pins,
needles, soap, rubber bands,
protein cubes and plastic milk
bags. A luncheon social hour
was enjoyed at the close of the
meeting.

owed with president Mrs. Aldeen
Volland presiding and Mrs.
Maggie acting as secretary.

Robert Berscht was best man
for his brother. Ushers were Tom
Crummer, Tim Mock, brother
of the bride and Jeff Mock,
nephew of the bride.
Following a dinner and recept-
ion at the Pineridge Chalet,
the bride changed to a white
blazer and blouse, black and
white printed long skirt, with
black accessories for a honey-
moon to the Thousand Islands.
The groom is a student at
Waterloo Lutheran University
and the bride is a graduate of
London Teacher's College,
They will reside in Waterloo.

who is resigning from her teach-
ing position this year, was pres-
ented with an electric alarm
clock, two lawn chairs and a
table from her pupils and friends,
Miss Morlock has been associat-
ed with the Nursery since its
beginning five years ago.
Certificates of graduation
were presented to Larry Yearly,
Bob McCann, Walter Micheil-
son and Terry Nychay, and cert-
ificates of achievement were
given to Eddie Zimmer, Brian
Boogermans, Jamie Meidinger,
Shawn Dinney, Ricky Rumbout,
and Donnie Tiedeman.
Winners of the various events
were as follows, lucky chair,
Mrs. L. McCann, nearest birth-
day, Helen Sturdevant, most
grandchildren, Mrs. M. Tiede -
man, bean guessing, Earl Diet-
rich, Fifth Introduction, Mrs,
Haist, and spot prize, Joan
Smith . Sports for the children
were held on the lawn and prizes
given to each child.
Glen Miller bad his appendix
out at St. Joseph's Hospital,
London on Monday evening, He
had a sudden attack while work-
ing on the home farm.
Doug Masse, son of Mr, and
Mrs. Peter Masse, a native of
Grand Bend, is the new employ-
ee at the Bluewater Hardware
since early May.

luck supper for their last meet-
ing of the spring season.
