Possibly all of our squacking about cold, wet weather has paid off for now it seems that we are having record high temp- eratures for this time of the year, and to top it all off, a good many people are nursing painful sunburns. Entertainment and activities last week were at a minimum, however, since Tuesday was a lovely warn day, some of the residents took advantage of the opportunity to have a bus ride. They covered the area around Grand Bend and Crediton which was of special interest to some of rhe Residents. Thursday evening bingo was enjoyed, followed by light refreshments. Plans are under way to cele- brate Senior Citizens' Week from June 17 to 23. On Wednesday afternoon, the Ladies of the Auxiliary will be sponsoring the annual picnic for the residents. The program will commence at 2 p.m. and a pic- nic supper will be served in the dining room of the Home. J Beamish Construction Co., Limited of Thornhill for $414, 423, The project is for hot mix paving on Highway 8 from God- erich easterly to Seaforth west limits, excluding the Town of Clinton ---a distance of 18.2 miles. Work is slated to commence in late June with completion scheduled by Mid -October, 1973.
