Middle row left to right, Joanne Bell, Becky Baker and Sandra Dixon, Front, kneeling, Lori Flynn and Tammy Turner, brownies fly -up The highlight of the Fly -up ceremony on May 8 at the Hen- sall United Church was the pres- entation of wings to Brownies by Mrs. Gary Nash, Clysdale Division Commissioner. Lori Flynn, Vicki Mann, Becky Bak- er, Tammy Turner, Anna Marie Duffy, Sandra Dixon and Jo- anne Bell portrayed Centennial ladies as they flew out of Brow- nies. A skit "Magic for Golden Bars" was presented by the Golden Bar Brownies represent- ing some of the tests required to earn this badge. Many int- erest badges were presented by Tawny Owl, Mrs. Joyce Pepper. They are as follows, Space, Sandra Dixon; Toymakers, Sandra Tower; Tammy Turner, Valerie Baker, Jane Pollock, Sandra McCurdy, Laurie Pep- per, Joanne Pepper; Collectors, Valerie Baker, Melanie Lovell, Teresa Charrette, Anna Marie Duffy, Becky Balser and Sandra Dixon, Pet Keppers, Tammy Turner, Beadwork, Anna Marie Duffy. Housekeepers, Anna Marie Duffy, Valerie Baker, Tammy Turner, Lori Flynn, Becky Bak- er, Joanne Bell, Cooks, Anna Marie Duffy, Lori Dlynn, Becky Baker and Joanne Bell, Craft, Tereasa Gharrette, Tammy Alexander, Sandra Dixon, Jane Pollock, Thrift --Anna Marie Duffy. Golden Bar was received by Sandra Tower. Golden Hand Badges were presented by Brown Owl Mrs, Pat Venner to Lori Flynn, Vicki Mann, Becky Baker, Tammy Turner, Anna Marie Duffy, Sandra Dixon and Joanne Bell, Each Brownie pieced together a partof a hand to form a large Golden Hand representing a test required for a badge. An afghan was on display which was completed this year. This con- sisted of squares knitted by ninety Brownies over a period of twelve years. This will be sent to a missionary in the field. A resume of the years' activ- ities was given by Brown Owl with a vote of thanks to Tawny Owl, Mrs. Pepper, the Local Association and the mothers. During Pow wow Lori Flynn told about Guiding in Ireland, Each Brownie told what she lik- ed best about Brownies. After a sing -song lunch was served by Fly -ups to many mothers and guests present, This concludes activities until September. Obituary MRS, E. PATERSON A well known Hensall woman, Mrs. Edna A. Paterson passed away at South Huron Hospital, on Saturday, May 12, in her 34th year. She was the former Edna A. Horton. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Paterson and dear mother of Raye B, of Hen- sall, sister of Mrs. Jim (Rae) Kimball, Richmond, Ill,,; Mrs. George (Jen) MacDonald, Edm- onton; Mrs, John T. (Nan) Bonthron, Moose Jaw, and John A. Horton of Doddsland, Saskatchewan. The body rested at the Bonth- ron funeral chapel until Mon- day, May 14, when funeral service was held at 1;30 with Rev. Donald Beck officiating.
