Lutheran Church
welcomes new
members
Following the regular service
on the second Sunday after
Easter at St, Peter's Church,
Zurich, the congregation met
for a social hour and luncheon
to honour the catechetical
class which had been confirmed
on Palm Sunday. The catechet-
ical class sessions covered a
two year period in which a
study of Christian faith and
doctrine is made along the pat-
tern of the Ten Commandments,
The Apostles' Creed, The
Lord's Prayer, and the Sacra-
ments of Holy Baptism and Holy
Communion. Martin Luther's
Small Catechism is used as the
general outline for the course.
Ivan Kalbfleisch, chairman
of the Church Council, was
master of ceremonies for the
reception. An inspiring address
was given by Ken Baker, father
of one of the girls in the class.
Mr. Baker encouraged the young
people to stay with the faith
and the Church wherever the
course of their lives may take
them.
Carl Willert, chairman of
the Christian Education Commit•
tee, congratulated the class on
completion of the two years of
