Vice principal at
South Huron
(continued from page 1)
in January, 1969, two monthly
open meetings and made prov-
isions for committee of the
whole meetings and committee
of the whole in camera meet-
ings.
Since October 1971, the
board has been operating under
five standing committees
and holding one open meeting a
month, a system that was dev-
ised in an attempt to make
fewer meetings necessary for
members to attend.
Before Mrs. Wallace made
her motion, E .0 . Hill, board
chairman, drew to the attention
of the members that the by-laws
of the board required a two-
thirds majority vote of the
members present to place the
topic on the floor.
When it was drawn to Mrs.
Wallace's attention that if
majority was not met she would
have to wait until 1974 to again
place the motion before the
board, she withdrew the motion.
She did this in view of the fact
that all policies of the board
and its by-laws are in the proc- -
ess of being reviewed. As a
member of this review commit-
tee she will have a chance to
put forth her views to the other
committee members, and in
that way will have it brought
forward when the board is asked
to make a decision on all board
policies and by-laws in about
two months.
"People know what is on my
mind and they will have two
months to think about it, " Mrs.
Wallace stated.
