The hi -lite of the evening was the hilarious way each member described her secret pal. Mem- bers with perfect attendance all year were, Margaret Hoggarth, . Rena Caldwell, Mary Connelly, Grace Drummond, Mary Broad - foot, GracePepper and Mona. Alderdice, Games, stunts and contests were enjoyed,; lady with the most doors on her house Mona Alderdice; most buttons, Mary Whitehouse; widest run in her nylons, Grace Drummond; most lace onher slip, Agnes Eyre. Euchre prizes, high, Ruby Bell, 2nd, Mary Broadfoot, low, Margaret Hoggarth; lone hands, Mary Whitehouse, Helen Mc- Lean's side was the winner in the roll call contest and Fran- cis Kinsman's side was the loser, ST. ANDREW'S U, C. W, The United Church Women of St. Andrew's Church, Kippen, held their Easter Thank -offering meeting on Tuesday, April 10 at 8 p.m. Guests were present from Brucefield, Varna and Chiselhurst charges. Mrs. David Turner chaired the meeting and the workshop was taken by Mrs. Jack Sinclair, The theme of the devotional was "Time" and the Scripture was read by Mrs. Arie Binnendyk. Mrs. Berne McKinley contributed tr rnpet numbers accompanied by Mrs. Ross Broadfoot on the piano. The hostesses were Mrs. Bert Faber and Mrs. Harold Jones, Mrs. H. Binnendyke introduced the guest speaker, Rev. D.L. Patterson, Egmondville, who showed slides and spoke on his journey to the Holy Land. Mrs. David Cooper gave court- esy remarks. Lunch was served. Leslie Consitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Consist, is in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS rutin WI The annual business meeting of the Hensall Women's Instit- ute was held in the Legion Hall, Wednesday evening. President Mrs. Dorothy Beaton presided and opened the Mary Stewart Collect and the Ode. The roll call was answered by the payment of fees, It was "announced that there will be a short course on "Choosing and using fabrics" in the Hensall Legion Hall on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Any one intere: ted is invited to attend and are asked to bring lunch. The district annual meeting is to be held on May 16, Rep- orts of the standing committees were given. Mrs. Shirley Luth- er and Mrs. Nan Britton favour- ed everyone with two very beaut iful Easter duets accompanied by Mr. Eric Luther at the piano. District president Miss Ruth Skinner installed the slate of officers for the 1973-74 term. They are as follows; past pres- ident, Mrs. Dorothy Beaton; president, Mrs. Hilda Payne; first vice-president, Mrs, Jessie Henson news A dance was held at Hensall Public School last Friday even- ipg with Grade 7 and 8 pupils from Huron Centennial, Zurich Public, Usborne Central, St. Marie Separate and St. Boniface as special invited guests. The music was provided by the "Junction" from Grand Bend, and refreshments were sold. Over a hundred people were present including some area high school students. Grades 7 and 8 of Hensall Public School wish to express their thanks to all who attended and made their dance successful. Very special thanks goes to their chaperones for the evening, Rin McKay, Doug Pearson and Mrs, Mary Jacobe.
