The directors, Mrs. Ralph Weber, Mrs. Mildred Kellerman and Mrs. Earl Guenther, were in charge of the annual meeting of the Dashwood Women's Inst- itute as they also formed the nominating committee. Mrs. Gordon Bender, presid- ent, presided for the business. The Red Cross canvass netted $154,45. Desired short courses were decided. Mrs. Rosaleen Schenk reported on the director's meeting. The District Annual is May 16 at the Presbyterian church, Exeter. Mrs. Schenk will attend the Officer's Confer- ence May 1, 2, and 3 at Water- loo University. Roll Call was answered by paying dues. One new member joined. It was decided to cont- inue sponsoring our child in in India. Reports were heard from all convenors, president and secretary. Two members had a perfect attendance. Mrs. Letta Taylor donated tea towels to the Institute. Mrs. Sid Baker was in charge of the election of officers with Mrs. Ralph Weber giving the report of the nominating com- mittee. Officers are: past pres- ident, Mrs. Howard Maier; president, Mrs. Gordon Bender; vice-presidents, Mrs. Ray Rader and Mrs. Earl Keller; secretary treasurer, Mrs. Rosaleen Schenk; assistant, Mrs. Eben Weigand; district director, Mrs. Glen Webb; alternate, Mrs. Sid Baker resolution, Mrs. Ililda Rader; directors, same; History Curator, same; Public relations officer, pianist, and auditors were all returned. Convenors of standing comm- ittees, citizenship and World Affairs, Mrs. J.M. Tiernan; Education and Cultural Activit- ies, Mrs. Leroy Gowanlock; Agriculture and Canadian Act- ivities, Mrs. Hilda Rader; Family and Consumer Affairs, Mrs. Stuart Wolfe. Following the business, lunch was served by the group follow- ing the opening of Secret Pal gifts and new pals picked. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Schatz and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hod- gins attended the Fabric Distrib- utors clinic in Toronto, Sunday, at which Princess Irene Galit- zine showed features of styles and trends for fall.
