INTERESTING HAPPENINGS IN ONTARIO'S PRETTIEST VILLAGE
The chancel guild of Trinity
Anglican Church was held at
the home of Mrs, Fred LeBeau,
Tuesday evening, March 27.
An election of officers took
place, with a motion that all
be returned for another term,
namely, President, Mrs. J.B.
Higgins, first vice-president,
Mrs. Fred Hulls; secretary,
Mrs. Fred LeBeau; Treasurer,
Mrs. R.J. Larson; flower chart
convenor, Mrs. L.W. Scotch -
mer; linen convenor, Mrs. Rob-
ert Turner; press reporter, Mrs.
Fred LeBeau.
The Guild welcomed a new
member in the person of Mrs.
Viola Cadger.
A discussion regarding order-
ing the flowers for Easter took
place, and anyone wishing to
put Memorial flowers in the
church is asked to call Mrs. L.
W. Scotchmer,
ANGLICAN CHURCH
The Board of Management
of Trinity Anglican Church,
met in the Parish Hall, Tuesday
evening, with Rev. George
Youmatoff in the chair.
The Rector reported that the
Great Chapter Dinner Dance
previously slated for 25 May
has been Indefinitely postponed;
and the Chairman of the Fin-
ance Committee has been
changed from Fred Hulls to
Harry Baker, to act in that cap-
acity.
Huron Church Camp inform-
ation may be obtained from the
Rector, or by writing Mr. D.J.
O'Brien, Registrar, 1983 Arthur
Road, Windsor, Ontario,
A request to install a hand-
rail near the organ, for the
convenience of assisting the
climbing of the stairs to the
Chancel, will be checked into
by the property committee;
also a type of portable coat racl,
for the back of the church was
discussed.
Good Friday Service will be
conducted at 10 a.m. Friday,
April 20.
The Board of Management
will meet again on Tuesday,
May 1, at 7 p. m. in the Parish
Hall.
SENIOR CITIZENS
The regular meeting of the
Senior Citizens was held Fri-
day evening in the Municipal
Building, with President Clair
Merner in the chair. Twenty-
five members were present to
discuss the proposed Senior
Citizens Housing for the Village;
and express their views on a bus
trip to the Safari at Rockton,
and a visit to the Botanical
Gardens at Hamilton.
Following general business a
few games of euchre were enjoy

60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Layton
of Bayfield, celebrated their
Diamond Wedding Anniversary,
on Monday, April 2, at their
village home.
Open house was held Monday
for 30 friends and relatives who
called to offer congratulations
to the couple. Three grand-
daughters, Barbara, Bonnie and
Vicki served the guests at this
occasion.
Sunday evening a fancily din-
ner was held at the Layton borne
by their family, Mrs. Gordon
(Verna) Hildebrand, of Seaforth,
Edward Layton, Clinton; and
Glen and Keith Layton, both of
R.R.5, Clinton.

Mr. and Mrs. Layton were
married at her home at R.R.5,
Clinton, by the Rev. Mr. Allen,
Attendants were Mrs. Layton's
sister and brother, Mrs. Jack
(Sadie) I-Iorton and the late
Frank Walters. About 40 guests
gathered in the evening for a
reception and dance to honour
the newlyweds. Mr. Layton
recalled the wonderful time
they enjoyed at house parties
where he often "called off' for
square dances. He said there
was no set fee for an orchestra,
the group would play for the
proceeds of the evening which
ranged from $2.50 to $7.50 for
an evenings dancing.
Following their marriage the
couple took up farming on a
100 acre farm at R.R.3, Seafortl
