Bayfield council meet
The assessment review court
will be held in Bayfield, Dec-
ember 18, at 2 p.m. Confirm-
ation of this was received by
Bayfield Council at their meet-
ing last Thursday evening.
Correspondence received from
the Huron County Board of
Health stated that Mr. McCall,
CPH (C) had been hired as Chief
Inspector to replace Bill Empey.
An invitation to attend the
Good Roads Convention in Tor-
onto, February 26 to 28 was
received; also a letter from
Vennettilli Contractors, Green-
field- Sarnia Enterprises, stating
that they had heavy equipment
to rent, that they do landscap-
ing, industrial paving and exc-
avating, etc.
A most interesting letter
regarding the Task Force of
Policing in Ontario (0.P. C.)
was read. The letter (in part)
dealt with efficiency of admin-
istration; copy of the terms of
reference --analyzing present
and future needs.
Hearings are being held
throughout the Province for int-
erested persons or groups to dis-
cuss future planning needs; pol-
icing responsibilities; examin-
ations of criminal and traffic
by-laws; the financing of Police
Forces; Police manpower and
development and retirement,
Council will acknowledge this
letter and request assistance of
the O.P.C. when needed to
enforce certain by-laws.
A certificate of approval of
the Waste Management System,
serving the Village of Bayfield
and Stanley Township until May
of 1973, was received.
A thank -you for the interest
and comments on two copies of
a survey recently conducted by
the Health and Social Services
of Huron County was received.
A yellow -card must be att-
ached in a conspicuous place
when any job relating to sewage
systems is being carried out,
stated a letter from Huron Count;
Health Unit, Goderich,
Reeve Oddleifson reported on
his attendance at County Coun-
cil and spoke of the Official
Plan for the County. If passed
by the Government this will be
another "first" for Huron County.
In other business, council
endorsed a resolution passed by
the clerk -treasurer's association
on November 22, that a letter
be sent to the Huron County
Board of Education, stating
that payments be made twice
yearly, on June 30 and Decemb-
er 15; filed a request from Essex
County Flood Relief Fund
requesting a donation to aid the
flood victims along Lake Erie
and Pelee Island; authorized
road foreman John Lindsay to
purchase flares for the road
grader; and were informed by
Clerk Graham that $2, 000
had been allocated to the vil-
lage from the provincial govern-
ment for the Winter Works In-
centive Program and suggested
it be used to complete the work
on the Community Centre.

Brownies. Anne Talbot introd-
uced the Brownie leaders.
The new Brownies enrolled
were Cathy Leppington, Ruthie
DeRuyter, Cathy Van Ninauys,
Kathy Orr, Jeanne Brand and
Cindy Talbot.
The Golden Hand Brownies
showed the parents some words
in semaphore and Golden Bars
did a direction game.
We closed with our Brownie
song and prayer. The Ladies
Auxiliary served a real nice
lunch of freshie, coffee and
cookies.

SEA RANGERS
December 6, the Rangers and
Scouts had a hockey game at the
Arena. Players were Bonnie
Makins, Shirley Brandon, Joyce
Mclllwain, Louise Martins,
Diane Garrett and Sharon Bunn.
(Sharon also assisted the boys in
getting a goal, as they were
short-handed). Randy, Danny
and Barry Eckels (3 brothers)
David Martins and Dawain Mal-
colm played for the Scouts.
The score was 12 to 14 in fav-
our of the Rangers. Shirley Bran-
don scored all 12 goals. Danny
Eckels scored three goals and
Randy scored one.
