Zurich Squirts win over Mitchell
The Zurich Squirts came
through with an impressive 6-4
victory over Mitchell last Wed-
nesday night with Robert Willert
and Len Van Wonderen each
blinking the red light twice.
Kerry Bedard and Jeff McKinnon
both scored once to round out
the Zurich attack.
After allowing Mitchell to
open the scoring in the first
period, the Zurich crew came
back strong with two big goals
to take a 2-1 lead at the end
of the initial stanza.
The only goal of the second
period was scored by Willert,
his second of the game, at the
4,55 mark, to give Zurich a
3-1 lead.
In the third period Kerry Bed-
ard blinked the red light to give
the locals a 4-1 lead, and then
Len Van Wonderen scored to
give Zurich a commanding 4-1
lead. At this point, however,
Jim Heinbuck took over for
Mitchell and rapped in three
big goals in the next 11 minutes.
With only one second left to
play in the game, Jeff McKin-
non fired the puck into an emp-
ty Mitchell net to increase the
lead for the locals to 6-4.
Two penalties were called
against Zurich in the game.
