The driver received minor cuts. Damage was estimated at $400. by Constable Dale Lamont. On Saturday at 3 a, m. a car driven by Lee Browning, Credit- on, skidded out of control on Huron County Road No 4 and struck a hydro pole. Total dam- age was estimated at $700. by Constable Don Mason. The driver received minor bruises. On Saturday, at 4:20 p.m, a car driven by Jan Koene, Bay- field, and a truck driven by Willy Vanerp, Strathroy, collid- ed on Highway No 4 at the junc- tion of the Kirkton Road. Total damage was estimated by Const- able Bill Glassford at $500. On Saturday, at 5:40 a car driven by Johanna Gielen, R. R. 2, Crediton collided with a cattle beast owned by Thomas Ryan, R. R, 3, Ailsa Craig, on Huron County Road No 5. Dam- age was estimated at $125. by Constable Dale Lamont. The cattle beast was injured. Area drivers are again remind• ed to adjust their driving habits to the prevailing road surface conditions. Most of the accid- ents on Saturday were the result of drivers not compensating for icy road conditions. 0 Bayfield council hear requests (continued from page 1) above date. Kerry Bedard and Jeff McKinnon both scored once to round out the Zurich attack. After allowing Mitchell to open the scoring in the first period, the Zurich crew came back strong with two big goals to take a 2-1 lead at the end of the initial stanza. The only goal of the second period was scored by Willert, his second of the game, at the 4,55 mark, to give Zurich a 3-1 lead. In the third period Kerry Bed- ard blinked the red light to give the locals a 4-1 lead, and then Len Van Wonderen scored to give Zurich a commanding 4-1 lead. At this point, however, Jim Heinbuck took over for Mitchell and rapped in three big goals in the next 11 minutes. With only one second left to play in the game, Jeff McKin- non fired the puck into an emp- ty Mitchell net to increase the lead for the locals to 6-4. Two penalties were called against Zurich in the game. ----0 CHRISTMAS SEALS The 1972 Christmas Seal Campaign in the Huron -Perth TB and Respiratory Disease Association is headed by Ralph Goren, of Stratford and Tom Leiper of Londesboro. Christmas Seal funds play a two -fold role --to maintain the vigilant struggle against tuber- culosis and fight the lung crip- pling respiratory diseases includ- ing chronic bronchitis, emphy- sema and asthma. Mrs. Gowdy was mistress of cerem- onies for the afternoon and joined Mrs. Jack Ferguson for vocal duet numbers. Mrs, Gowdy conducted a sing -sing accompanied by Mrs. John Freeman. Mrs. Mabel Edgar read a poem that had been written by Harvey Sparling There were several mouth org- an selections by Ed Gilman and violin instrumentals by Mrs. Ron McMichael accompanied by Mrs. Dalton Dickisori. Miss Agnes Lawson, a former resid- ent of Gorrie, who by the way is 97 years young, in a few well chosen words thanked those responsible for the party. Slide pictures of Europe were shown by Willa Taylor on Thurs- day Family Night. Mrs. Mic- anernie played several piano numbers during the evening.
