News of Kippen
FAMILIES ENTERTAINED
Family night was held in the
Legion Hall, Hensall, when
Kippen East W.I. entertained
their families to a social even-
ing. After a delicious pot -luck
supper all enjoyed a sing song.
Life Membership pins and
certificates were presented to
Mrs. Alex McGregor by Mrs.
James Drummond, to Mrs.
Stewart Pepper by Mrs. William
Bell, to Mrs. Ross Broadfoot
by Mrs. Charles Eyre and to
Mrs. John Sinclair by Mrs.
Grant McLean. Mrs. Campbell
Eyre, also a Life Member was
unable to be present. The child-
ren enjoyed bingo and games
under Mrs. Al Hoggarths lead-
ership and Mrs. Dave Triebner
conducted the euchre for the
adults.
Winners in the euchre were,
ladies high, Mrs. Charles Eyre,
ladies second, Mrs. 'Glen Bell.
ladies low, Mrs. R. Kinsman,
men's high, Mr. William Bell;
men's second, Mr. Glen Bell,
low, Mr. Ken McKay. travell-
ing lone hand, Mrs. William
Bell. anniversary in month of
November, Mrs. Ross Broadfoot.
Mr. Emerson Kyle was adm-
itted to South Huron Hospital,
Exeter and was later transfer-
red to St. Joseph's Hospital,
London.
The sympathy of the comm-
unity goes out to Mr. and Mrs.
Percy Wright in the loss of the
latter's brother Neil Taylor, of
Vancouver.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stokes,
London, visited with Mr. Robert
Thompson.
Mr. Webster Buchanan,
Wheatley called on friends in
and around the village.
Mr. Lorne McBride spent a
few days in Kitchener with Mr.
and Mrs. Wilbert McBride.
Sympathy of this commun-
ity goes to a former resident
Mrs. Norman Long in the loss
of her brother Mr. Fred Rountree
whose death occured last Friday
in Owen Sound Hospital.
For 90 Christmases now the
Salvation Army has been bring-
ing little gifts and the warmth
of friendship into hospitals,
prisons, old people's homes,
into all the "dark corners" of
life.
U.C. W. MEETING
The United Church Women of
St. Andrew's Church, Kippen
met at the home of Mrs. N. Dic-
kert on November 22, with
Mrs. R. McGregor co -hostess.
Mrs. William Bell, the presid-
ent, opened the meeting with
Hymn 46. Mrs. Keith Love
gave the devotional on Thank-
fulness and Gratitude, Mrs,
Emmerson Anderson continued
the study of Africa. Mrs. Robert
Turner gave two musical numb-
ers. Reports were given by the
treasurer, Mrs. Ken McLellan.
The Rose convenor, Mrs. L.
ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS.
Finlayson, the Sunshine convenor
Mrs, N. Dickert and the min-
utes were read by Mrs. L.
Finlayson. It was decided to
have the Christmas shut-in boxes
ready for the next meeting,
December 14. Offering was taken
by Mrs. R. McGregor. Hymn
577 was sung and the meeting
closed with the closing prayer.
4-H CLUB
Kippen II, 4-H Club, the
Kippen Kabobs, held their
eighth meeting at the home of
the assistant leader Lynn Alder -
dice. The subject was the sett-
ing of a buffet table and the
girls entertained their parents to
a buffet dinner followed by
games and contests. About 27
were present at the event.

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Edsel
Louis Ducharme were united
in marriage at St. Boniface
Roman Catholic Church, Zur-
ich, on Saturday, November
25.
Mrs. Ducharme, the former
Gail Angela Bedard is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nap-
oleon Bedard of Zurich, and
Mr. Ducharme's parents are
Mr, and Mrs. Edsel Ducharme,
of Dashwood.
Best man was Jack Ducharme,
brother of the groom and Linda
Bedard, sister-in-law of the
Ratepayers of Hay Township
I am a candidate for the position of
DEPUTY REEVE
for the Township of Hay. My previous experience includes
6 years as a COUNCILLOR and 5 years as REEVE of your
municipality.
If elected on December 4, I will work to the best of my
ability for all the ratepayers in Hay Township.

Boniface Church
bride was matron of honor.
Mrs. Linda Masse, sister of the
bride and Louise Clipperton,
were the bridesmaids.
The guests were ushered down
the aisle by Michael Bedard
and Ted Ducharme.
Following the wedding rec-
eption in the Zurich Commun-
ity Centre the couple left for
a trip to Quebec. Upon their
return they will reside in
London.
