CofC
(continued from page 8)
ry was already located a half -
mile east of the village on the
Highway 84 and that he believes
this is the place to locate an
industrial park for the Village of
Zurich.
To the questions of annexat-
ion, Mr. Hill said that annexat-
ion must be considered as a
very last recourse. Annexation
is complex, time- consuming
and until the results are known
of soil tests in the northeast area
of the village, annexation
should be put aside. However,
Mr. Hill continued, it did not
change the fact that serious
enquiries have been received
by the Clerk of the Village from
prospective industries, and
therefore, an industrial park
location must be found,
The village had invested in
an expensive full municipal
service system which can ac-
commodate dry and wet indust-
ries. Because of the complexity
and urgency of the probletn, Mr.
Hill agreed that a separate study
be undertaken to arrive at the
best location of industry in the
village. This would be in the
form of a report and meetings
with provincial personnel direct-
ly concerned with the matter at
hand. Thereportwould consider
the pros and cons of alternative
locations,
The remainder of the meeting
dealt with questions of zoning
by-laws, different classes of
residential zoning and the need
and location of a multi-storey
residential apartment building,
