Married in Sarnia church

St. George's Anglican Church
Sarnia, was the setting for the
marriage of Sandra Lynne Hew-
itt and Gary Bruce McBride with
the Venerable Archdeacon
Pearce officiating for their
double ring ceremony,
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley M. Hew-
itt, Sarnia and the groom the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley
McBride, Varna.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a white
floor length gown of silk organ-
za trimmed with seed pearls
with a chiffon bodice, full
skirt and puffed sleeves gather-
ed at the elbows, The head
piece was a band of white flow-
er petals accented by seed
pearls attached to a floor length
veil trimmed with deep lace.
She carried a cascade of white
orchids and stephanotis. Miss
Theresa Ruth Watford was maid
of honour and wore a pink and
green polyester crepe gown
with a wide brimmed pink hat
trimmed with a floral sash and

bride, was flower girl wearing
a pink dress trimmed in velvet
with a velvet sash. She carried
a small basket of flowers.
Don Kaikkonen, London was
best man and Murray McBride
ushered the guests.
Following the reception at the
Sarnia Golf and Curling Club
the bride changed to a cream
and brown silk jersey dress with
white accessories for gavelling
to eastern Canada and the
United States. The couple will
reside in Rexdale, Ontario.

Trefoil seed growers are ad-
vised of a problem with the
clover wasp which lays eggs in
the seed of trefoil and tiny larv-
ae develop inside rendering the
seed useless. Growers can find
out if their seed is affected by
squeezing a number of ripe
seeds, Infected seeds squash
easily as only the seed coat re-
mains,

As this weekend rolls around
many friends and families will
gather to celebrate Thanksgiv-
ing Day.
On Sunday, October 22, the
Home is planning its 2nd annual
family Thanksgiving dinner for
the residents and their relatives.
A smorgasbord dinner will be
served in the dining -room to
immediate families of the resi-
dents at a nominal fee, from
4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Last Monday evening films
were shown and the ones reserv-
ed for next Monday evening will
be "Adventure High Arctic" and
"Age of the Buffalo."
Thursday evening bingo was
enjoyed.
We wish to thank Mrs. Percy
Weido, Kitchener and Mrs.
Winnifred Goodwin, Waterloo,
for the large selection of mat-
erials they donated to the hobby
shop. These will provide many
pleasant hours for our residents
who enjoy working in the hobby
shop. We are also grateful to
all who have donated fresh fruit
and vegetables for the kitchen.
On Sunday afternoon, the
Conservative Mennonite Church
Members provided musical ent-
ertainment for the residents,
The Sunday evening chapel
service was in charge of Rev. A.
Blackwell, of St. Peter's Luth-
eran Church, Zurich. The org-
anist for the service was Mrs.
Gertrude Fleischauer.
Sorry I was misinformed con-
cerning the organist at last
week's service. Mrs. Howard
Klopp was mentioned but should
have been Mrs. Margaret Pfaff.
