The daylight hours are be-
coming shorter and shorter so
the early evenings are ideal for
our film showing. On Monday,
September 25, films to be
shown will be "Bear Country"
and "Blades & Brass." Perhaps
you would like to drop in and
see these films.
On Tuesday evening, the
Grand Bend Women's Institute
had charge of the birthday
party for the month. Those tak-
ing part in the program were
Bill and Ross Love, who played
the violin, and Colin Love,
who played the dolcimer, a
very old instrument, mentioned
in the bible, Vocal numbers
were rendered by a mixed
chorus consisting of Mrs. Allen
Miller, Mrs. Ross Love, Alex
Hamilton, Irvin Holt, Well -
wood Gill, Ross Love and Bill
Love. Mrs, Ross Love and Mrs,

also favoured with a number.
Mrs. Clarke Kennedy was the
pianist for the evening. Miss
Sue -Anne Schroeder played the
guitar and sang and her sister,
Miss Sandra Schroeder accomp-
anied her on the piano. Miss
Michelle favoured with numbers
on the accordian. Coronet
numbers were rendered by the
Adams Brothers,
The residents were thrilled
with the program and on behalf
of them I wish to say a sincere
thank -you to thein. Following
the program, gifts were present-
ed to the following people who
were celebrating birthdays dur-
ing the month of September,
namely; Mrs. Maude Berry,
Mrs. Sarah Gingerich, Mr. Fred

McFarlane, Mr. James McFarl-
ane, Mrs, Ada Porter and Mrs.
Anne Rehn. A delicious lunch
was served and a social half
hour enjoyed.
On Wednesday afternoon,
Mrs, Jean Durst, of Seaforth
visited the home and brought
with her a large variety of
beautiful flowers from her gard-
en which she used to demonst-
rate many beautiful flower
arrangements. We wish to thank
Mrs. Jennetta Finnigan for
arranging for Mrs. Durst to visit
us. At the close of the demon-
stration an arrangement was
given to Mrs. Finnigan for
having the most grandchildren,
Mrs. Rehn for her birthday,
and Mrs. Jenny Hotson, Mrs.
Emma Kipfer, Mrs. Ethel
McBride and Mrs. Sarah Doug-
las,
A thank -you is in order to all
who have brought in treats of
fresh fruit and vegetables and
donations of materials for our
hobby shop.
A number of our residents
have enjoyed little outings dur-
ing the past week. Rev. L.H.

Obituary
CLETUS MITTELHOLTZ
A native of Zurich, Cletus
Mittelholtz passed away at
Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital, Goderich, on Thurs-
day, September 14, in his 77th
year.
Surviving are five sisters,
Mrs. Alberta Harrison, Detroit;
Miss Mary Mittelholtz, Preston;
Mrs. Leonard (Frances) Hawe,
Dearborn Heights, Mich.,
Mrs. Gerald (Anne) Karges,
Port Dover, Ont; Sister Angela,
Notre Dame Academy, Water -
down. A brother Ted, of Zur-
ich, pre -deceased him.
The body rested at the West-
lake funeral home, Zurich,
until Saturday morning, when
funeral mass was conducted in
St. Boniface Roman Catholic
Church, Zurich, by Father A.
Durand. Interment was made in
the adjoining cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ken Mittel-
holtz, Ed Mittelholtz, Alphonse
Dietrich, Edwin Regier, Karl
Regier and Milton Oesch.

4-H group meet

Casseroles, barbecues, picn-
ics, salads, fondues, kebabs
and many other recipes are
included in this year's 4-H fall
club, "The Third Meal."
The first meeting of Zurich
V's club was held at Mrs. J.
Armstrong's home on Tuesday,
September 12.
The club elected as their
president, Brenda McKinley;
Mrs. J. Armstrong as treasurer;
and Nelly Van Wonderen as
press secretary.
To start the club on its way
pizza was made. Everyone
found it delicious.
The next meeting will be
held on Tuesday, September 19.
Huron board
want program
to continue

Once more this year, the
Huron County Board of Educat-
ion will get behind the mothers
of Huron who would like to see
Sesame Street carried on local
television.
A letter from the board to
CFPL in London will go out
shortly requesting that the prog-
ram be scheduled this winter
if at all possible.
The action was touched off
by a letter from an Exeter
mother to the board at its
regular meeting in Clinton on
Monday evening.
