Mrs. Arnold Gackstetter.
Mr. Kenneth Jones, who has
returned to Guelph for his third
year in Agriculture and Engin-
eering, returned home for the
weekend.
4-H CLUB I •
The first meeting of Kippen
I, 4-H Club was held'at the
home of Mrs. Ferris, on Sept-
ember 5. The officers nominat-
ed were Karen Ferris as presid-
ent, Carol Chalmers as vice-
president, Jill McLellan as
press reporter, Shirley Chalmers
as secretary and Kathy Bell,
Doreen Van Wieran and Barb
Cooper as telephone girls.
The Club in general was discus-
sed and pizzas were made. The
next meeting will be a barbecue,
4-H CLUB II
Kippen II, 4-H Club, the
Kippen Kabobs, held their
third meeting at the home of
Mrs. Robert Bell on September
11. A drawing by Linda Vanneste
was chosen for the book covers.
Joyce Branderhorst was chosen
as secretary and part of the four
clay meal was discussed. Chris
McGregor and Joyce Brander -
horst demonstrated wieners and
beans on a bun. The cooking of
fish, flesh and fowl was dis-
cussed.
On Sunday morning, Septemb-
er 17, the seals and diplomas
were given out to -the Sunday
School of St. Andrews Church,
Kippen. Diplomas, Julie Wright,
Christine Cooper, Danny Turner,
Julie Consitt; second year,
Paul McGregor, Melanie Lovell,

Huron -Perth TB and Respirat-
ory Disease Association is comp-
leting plans for an educational
display during the International
Plowing Match later this month
at Sebringville.
Mrs. J. Schenck, Seaforth,
chairman of the Education
Committee, told a meeting of
the board in Seaforth Commun-
ity Hospital board room that
in addition the CBC document-
ary "One Way To Quit, " would
be shown periodically during
the match.
Ivan Forsyth, the President
was in charge of the meeting
and routine reports were given;
Mrs. Frank Dodds, Stratford,
Screening; Rev. Garbutt Smith,
Stratford, Rehabilitation and
Patient Services; Christmas
Seal Campaign, Ralph Goren,
Stratford and the Financial
report given by Mrs. Raymond
Little, St. Marys.

To mark the 75th year of
Women's Institue Branches,
members from Hurondale, Elinz-
vi11e, Seaforth and Kippen East
were entertained by the Zurich
Women's Institute.
Mrs. Lorne Klopp and Mrs.
Victor Dinnin welcomed guests
at the Hay Township Hall on
September 11. About seventy-
five ladies attended the dessert
and euchre party. Mrs. Allan
Johns had high score while
Airs. 11. Murray took the low

Jake Zondag, son of Mr.
and Mrs. G. Zondag, R. R. 3,
Bayfield, has left for Costa
Rica where he will attend
Tanguage school before going
to the mission field in Venezu-
ela. Mrs. Zondag and their
three children accompanied
hila.
Mr. Zondag attended high
school in Red Deer, Alberta,
and then went to Bible School
at Three Hills. After three years
at the Canadian Sunday School
Mission in Deadwood, Alberta,
he became assistant pastor at
Alliance Church in Red Deer.

Mrs, Lawrence Regier was
presented with a gift for having
the most grandchildren. The
lady with birthday nearest date
was Margret Hogarth. Mrs.
Cliff Jaques had the lucky chair.
The oldest lady present was
Mrs. Tillie Tetreau. Mrs. E.F.
Durst, of Seaforth, demonstrat-
ed flower arrangements. About
thirteen various displays were
finished. One was made on a
slab of wood with driftwood.
A tea pot arrangement was very
pretty with two shades of min-
iature marigolds. Gladioli
greens, ivy and asters looked
dainty.
Mrs. L. Klopp conducted the
business meeting after the ent-
ertainment. Zurich members
accepted the invitation to join
with Kippen Women's Institute
in a March Workshop meeting
in Hensall.
Plans were discussed for org-
anizing the Arthritis Foundat-
ion in Zurich. Mrs. T. Meyers
expressed praise on the work of
the society.
On October 2, about 12 mem-
bers expect to attend the Rally
in Auburn.
Zurich Women's Institute
members are planning for a bus
trip on October 1, to Hamilton
rock gardens, and the African
Safari, at Rockton, the Elora
Park and gorge, and other inter-
esting views. Those who wish
to go on the bus trip please
telephone either 23G-4731 or

ember 27.
