The craft was so popular that the thirty T-shirts we bought were gone within the first hour. However, this did not dampen the children's enthusiasm as many went home to get their own T-shirts to dye. This Thursday morning, August 24, the playground children willhave their end of the season party at 10 until 11.30 a.m. All are welcome to attend. During the Bean Festival, various arts and crafts made by the playground children will be put on display in the arena. Last Monday night, the girls' softball team defeated the women's team by a score of 40 to 11. However, the women's team has come out on top at the end of the season with four wins as compared to the girl's three wins. The top scorers for the women's team. were, Joyce Armstrong and Sharon Broken - shire, while the top scorers for the girl's team were Mary Anne Geoffrey, Pat Denomme, Julie Bedard, Liz Bedard, Lori Bedard and Susan Bedour. Swimming tests were tried during the past two weeks. Those completing the Tadpole level included Darrin McKinl- ey, Jo -Ann McKinley, Shelly Horner, Mike Bedard, Lori Arm Bedard, Sharon Thiel, Steve Creces, Darlene Steckle, Angela Zehr, Jackie Bedard, Lori -Ann Meidinger, Brian Horner and Shelley Haggitt. Receiving a Red Cross Water Safety Progress Card were, John Schwartzentruber, Rosemary Bedard, Debbie Overholt, Scott Armstrong, Peter Incze, and Dale Schwart- zentruber. Those passing their Red Cross Pre -Beginner were, Lynn Schwartzentruber, Grace Schwartzentruber, Rick Bedard, Darlene Oesch, Ken Oesch, Brad Clausius, Deb Bedard, Randy Thiel, Sandra Armstrong, Rosemary Meidinger, Wendy Meidinger, Mike Haggitt, Tim Bedour, Steven Armstrong, Patty Overholt, Vicki Overholt, Patty Bedour, Bob Oesch, Rob Smith, Kevin Oke. Mary Ellen Steckle, Dan Bedour, Debbie Horner, Dan Meiding- er, Louise Regier, Barb Smith, Carrie Sweeney, Wayne Thiel, Paul Johnston, Julie Miller, Peter Miller, David Smith, Pat Cyr, and Mark Creces. Receiving lead -up cards to beginners were Rosemary Meid- inger, Wendy Meidinger, Darl- ene Oesch, Dan Meidinger, Deb Bedard, Randy Thiel, Sandra Armstrong, Steven Armstrong, and- Tim Bedour. Those passing their Red Cross Beginners were Brad Clausius Deb Horner, Rick Bedard, Ken Oesch and Beala Incze, Jim Oesch received his lead - up to Juniors. Passing their Juniors was Dianne Smith. Barb Dietrich received her Senior Red Cross Award, A special thanks should go out to the Zurich Lions Club for donating enough money to make it possible for the swim- mers to go the the Exeter Pool once a week for practice.
