Zurich, Ontario.
Dear Mr. Turkheim,
Reading your weekly paper
of August 3, 19'72, I was very
much impressed, delighted
and thrilled to see on page
ten "Citizens News Pictorial"
a picture of a shoe store belong•
ing to my father, Peter Bender
which was taken in 1908,
sixty-four years ago.
I myself had worked in this
with him, learning the art of
shoe making, which I continu-
ed for years here in Winnipeg.
It was quite a thrill to see this
picture which of course has
long been demolished.
Thanks very much for publ-
ishing it. My wife and I both
read your paper which my kind
sister, Mrs. S. Sararas, of
Hensall has been renewing for
me every year. I personally
enjoy reading it, as a lot of
names I am still familiar with
brings back memorable days
Thanking you again.
Yours truly,
Alfred Bender.
