Trivitt Memorial Anglican
Church, Exeter, was the scene
of a very pretty wedding, Sat-
urday, June 3, at 3 p.m,
when the Rev. Dr. H.R. Rokeby
Thomas, rector of St. Patrick's
Sainsbury, united in marriage
Heather Marie only daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Davis,
Centralia to James Gordon,
youngest son of Mr. and Mrs.
T. Harry Hoffman, Dashwood.
Baskets of white gladioli,
shasta daisies and large blue
commercial mums with white
candelebra formed the back-
ground for the double ring cere-
mony, Mr. David Elston, Cent-
ralia, cousin of the bride was
organist and accompanied the
grooms father who sang "The
Wedding Prayer and also the
groom's sister-in-law, Mrs.
Robert Hoffman who sang "Ave
Maria" and "Walk Hand in
Hand."
Given in marriage by her
father the bride looked truly
radiant in her floor length gown
of white chiffon. Simplicity,
with a touch of elegance could
only describe this gown. The
bodice with empire waistline
was highlighted by a Victorian
neckline and full wristlength
Juliet sleeves caught by a cuff,
enhanced with sprays of flowery
Swiss guipure lace appliques.
The lovely skirt formed its
own cathedral length train which
draped gracefully from the mid -
waist. To complete her outfit
the bride wore a fingertip illus-
ion veil which was caught by a
dainty headpiece made of pet-
als and flowers of the same
matching Swiss guipure lace.
She carried a white Bible with a
spray of bridal pink sweetheart
roses and streamers. Her Bible
was a gift from the Clarence
Davis family for the bride's
R. N. A , graduation.
Matron of honour was the
bride's aunt, Mrs. Ralph Simp-
son, of London. Maid of honour
was Miss Gloria Meyer, a cousin
from London. Bridesmaids were
Mrs. Jack Taylor, Exeter, sister
of the groom, Mrs. Wayne Love,
Varna, Miss Susan Lilley, Kom-
oka, and junior bridesmaid,
Miss Nancy Kerby, Traverse
City, Michigan, Flower girl
was Miss Donna McFalls, Centr-
alia, all cousins of the bride.
They all wore floor length gowns
in pale blue chiffon, made sim-
ilar to the brides with white

daisies trimming the empire
waistlines. Each carried gather-
ing baskets filled with pale blue
carnations, shasta daisies, and
baby's breath with white stream-
ers. All wore individual clusters
of pale blue baby's breath in
their hair and wore silver lockets
gifts of the bride.
Best man was Jim Hayter, ,
Goderich. Ushers were Michael
Davis, Centralia, brother of
the bride. Bob Hoffman and
Bill Hoffman, Dashwood, broth-
ers of the groom. George Keller,
Dashwood, Jeff Young, Lucan,
Junior ushers, cousin of the
bride and Jeffrey Taylor, Exeter,
nephew of the groom was ring
bearer. All wore white dinner
jackets and black pants with
pale blue ruffled shirts which
snatched the female attendants
dresses, Each wore matching
blue buttoniers.
For the smorgasbord wedding
dinner for 230 guests held at
the Lucan Memorial Arena, the
bride's mother received guests
in a soft pink floor length
chiffon gown with a corsage of
sweetheart roses and miniature
carnations in shades of pink.
The groom's mother assisted in
a floral sheer floor length gown
in shades of yellow with a
corsage of yellow sweetheart
roses. Each wore floral sprays
in their hair to match their
corsages, Also assisting were
the bride's grandmothers, Mrs.
George McFalls, Centralia
who was celebrating her 70th
birthday that day, wore a
floor length gown of pale blue
and mauve chiffon with a pink
sweetheart rose corsage, Mrs,
Heber Davis in a pale mauve
crepe floor length gown with
chiffon sleeves with a pale
yellow rose corsage, also the
bride's step great grandmother,
Mrs. Richard Dickins, of Exeter,
in a floor length floral mod
print crepe gown with a yellow
miniature roses in her corsage,
For the two week vacation in
Hawaii, the bride left in a long
white crimplene gown in sailor
style with red trim and navy
accessories. A red carnation
corsage completed her ensemble
The groom also chose an outfit
in matching colours of the
brides with a red buttonaire.
On their return the couple
will reside in Dashwood,

WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
The Family and Consumer
Affairs Committee with Mrs,
Stuart Wolfe convener, was in
charge of the June meeting of
the Dashwood Women's
Institute. Mothers were spec-
ial guests and the 4-11 girls
presented a fashion parade of
sleepwear. They also had a
display.
The leaders, Mrs, Gordon
Bender, and Mrs. Lloyd Beav-
er, Mrs, Earl Keller and Mrs.,
Ray Rader were presented gifts
in appreciation for their work
with the girls. Gifts were pres-
ented to the firls as well.
Susan Grigg for her 6th project;
Adrienne Van Raay for her
12th; and Mrs. Earl Keller for
advanced honors, The same
leaders will teach "The Third
Meal."
Mrs. Gordon Bender, presid-
ent, dealt with the business,
The articles for the fall fair
were discussed. One hundred
and four dollars and fifty cents
were reported collected for the
Red Cross. The London Area
Convention will be held at the
Banqueteer, October, 26 and
27. Mrs. 1 -toward Maier gave a
detailed report of the District
Annual,
h'lrs, Stuart Wolfe was chair -
lady for the program. Roll
Call was answered by naming
"Little Things that Make Life
Beautiful," Mrs. Rosaleen
Schenk discussed the motto,
"Don't let yesterday take up
too much of today." Mrs. Earl
Keller gave a reading. Jack
Gaiser and Stanley Haist ent-
ertained with guitar and sing-
ing.
The group was divided into •
four and a symposium held with
discussion of teenagers, yester-
day and today, under the foll-
owing headings, - Family
Relationships, Clothing and
Hair Syles; Horne and Manage-
ment. The group in charge
served lunch.

delegate to the convention of
the Lutheran Church, Missouri
