Stephen council hear report
Stephen Township council
last Tuesday night received and
accepted the financial state-
ment for the year 1971 as prep-
ared by the Goderich auditing
firm of A.M. Harper Ltd.
The statement shows an oper-
ating surplus of $12, 000 for the
year bringing the accumulated
surplus to a total of $28, 000.
Clerk Wihnar Wein said some
of the surplus would be used to
purchase a new road maintainer

ion of trustees from the police
village of Dashwood and dis-
cussed several matters including
dogs, mobile homes and maint-

AMBER REBEKAH
The regular meeting of
Amber Rebekah Lodge was held
Wednesday evening in the
Lodge rooms, with N. G. Mrs,
Olga Chipchase presiding and
being assisted by P. N. G , Mrs.
Myrtle Orr. Quite a number of
members were absent from this
meeting due to the 25th birthday
party of Pride of Huron Lodge,
Exeter, which quite a few of
the members were invited to
attend.
It was announced that the
L..0, 0.F. and Rebekah Lodge
picnic will be held July 9 in
Hensall Community Park. All
members and families are invit•
ed.
Second nomina*ions took
place. Plans were made to
drape the Charter in memory
of an Assembly Officer at the
next meeting.
