Area students visit tAerrymount
Last Saturday evening the
students of Ste. Marie School,
St, Joseph and St. Boniface
School, Zurich, visited Merry -
mount Children's Home at
London, where they presented a
Christmas program for the
youngsters living there.
Following the visit on Satur-
day evening, several of the
pupils at St. Boniface School
have expressed their views of
the visit, and their comments
follow:
OUR VISIT TO MERRYMOUNT
On December 18, pupils from
Ecole Ste. Marie and St. Boni-
face School travelled to Merry -
mount Orphanage in London to
present a Christmas program.
Mr. John McCarrol arranged for
the visit. St. Boniface presented
a gymnastic demonstration done
by the senior girls. The children
of the orphanage joined Mrs.
Suplat's class in dancing to
Alley Cat and Greensleeves.
Danny Meidinger, Ronnie Meld -
lager and Danny Overholt played
the guitars and sang as a group.
Ricky Bedard played his guitar.
and sang also..
Ecole Ste. Marie had a group
of girls singing Christmas songs.
Mrs. Laporte's class did a play
about Cinderella in French. At
the end of the program the girls
from Ecole Ste. Marie sang '
Christmas carols. Mr, McCarrol
had a balloon game. Then
Santa came in and all the child-
ren ran to him.
Before returning home the
students enjoyed talking to their
little hosts. All the students
enjoyed their evening.

ORPHAN CHILDREN
Up and down, running all around
But when they are in bed they
make no sound,
Bundles of love, full of joy
Just like a little wind up toy
Too bad these little children
have no parents.

CHRISTMAS
Little eyes peeking through
glasses
Some little children are fast,'
others slow as molasses.
When Christmas is here
Children from their rooms far
and near
Will come to see Santa.
Then Santa will come,
Bringing a little boy a toy drum.
Then off to bed,
Goes that little sleepy head.
