ORANGE LODGE
The members of L.O,L..
1035 held their annual meeting
on Thursday evening last. It
was preceeded by a supper at
the Bayfield restaurant.
Officers wlere elected for
1972 and were: IPM, William
Dowson; W . M., Grant Webster;
D.M., Ronald Taylor; Chapl-
ain, Louis Taylor; Recording
Secretary, Barry Taylor; Treas-
urer, Fred McClymont; Mar-
shall, Eric Chuter; First Lecturer
Robert Webster; Second Lecturer,
Ivan McClymont; First Comm.,
Ralph Stephenson; Committee,
Robert Taylor, Frank McClin-
chey and Charles Reid.
The officers were installed
by district Master Charles Reid,
assisted by Past Master, Watson
Webster. A committee was
appointed to operate the Skating
Rink this winter which the Lodge
has operated for the past twenty
years. A project this year is to
procure land near the village
for a ball diamond.
EXPLORERS MEET
The Explorer group met last
Tuesday evening with nine
members present. The vice-
president, Mary Anne Kalbfleisct
opened the meeting. The script-
ure lesson was read by Bonnie
Dowson. The roll call was ans-
wered by naming a favorite
Christmas song. Offering was
taken up by Tanis Chuter. Mrs.
Eric Chuter had charge of the
crafts period. The meeting was
closed with the Explorer prayer.
Mr. Floyd McAsh of Hamilton
spent the weekend at the home
of his parents Mr. and Mrs.
John McAsh

The United Church Women
held their Christmas meeting on
Thursday evening last. The
president, Mrs, William Dowson,
opened the meeting with a poem
"Christmas Tinie. " Group two
had charge of devotions with
Mrs, Watson Webster leading,
who conducted a candle lighting
service, assisted by other
members of her group.
A number of Christmas Carols
were sung. Mrs. Murdock Mor-
rison took up the collection and
Mrs. Roy Elliott had the dedic-
ation. Prayer was given by Mts.
Sherlock Keyes. The roll call
was answered by a donation to
the Children's Aid Society.
Twenty- nine members were pres-
ent.
There were sixty-three calls
made to sick and shut-ins, dur-
ing the past month. Plans were
made to hold the Christmas
concert on December 21.
The nominating committee
brought in the following slate of
officers: past president, Mrs.
William Dowson; president, Mrs.
Ralph Stephenson; vice president,
Mrs. William Taylor; treasurer,
Mrs. Robert Webster; Envelope
treasurer, Mrs, John Ostrom;
secretary, Mrs, Gordon Johnston;
corresponding secretary, Mrs.
Ida McClinchey,
Group one leader, Mrs. Robert
Stirling; assistant, Mrs. Louis
Taylor; Group two leader, Mrs.
Roy Elliott, assistant, Mrs.
Aldie Mustard; Group three
leader, Mrs. Gordon Hill,
assistant, Mrs. Charles Reid.

The annual meeting of the
Grand Bend area Medical
Centre Corporation was held in
the village hall on November
30. Chairman W. Sturdevant
reviewed the progress since the
first meeting was held in July
1970, to plan for a Medical
Centre for Grand Bend.
The building was erected,
and then staffed by two Doctors
from Dublin, Ireland. They
started practising in July, 1971.
A 600 -square foot dental area
was added, while the building
was being erected, but was not
completed on the inside. Work
will start on this in January,
1972, for Dr. Robert Clay, who
will be opening his dental office
in May.
The by-laws were approved
by the many members present,
and twelve directors were elect-
ed. W. Sturdevant, H. Hamilt-
on, W , F , Mac Laren, J. Men-
nel, E. Mcllroy, 0. Wassman,
C. Mathers, P. Van Bruaene,
0. Backx, K. Young, M. Des
Jardins, E. Thompson, These
directors will elect their offic-
ers at the next meeting on Dec-
ember 16.
C. V, Laughton, Q,C., was
appointed as solicitor, and B.
Reid, C,A, of Banghart, Kelly,
Doig and Co., as auditors.
Donations are still being receiv-
ed since it will cost $7, 000. to
complete the dental area. A
nursing home was envisioned on
the property for the future.
Thanks to the generosity of
the summer and winter area res-
idents, all the work finished so
far has been paid. Donations are
tax exempt.

ers presented a skit "Liberation
or bust. " Mrs. Vern Alderdice
showed slides of the Women's
Institutes' activities during the
past year. The children played
bingo with Mrs. A. Hoggarth in
charge.
The adults played euchre.
