Hensall couple
honored on
50th anniversary
The 50th wedding anniversary
of Mr. and Mrs. Norman E.
Cook was held November 16 at
their home in Hensel'.
They were married in London,
Ontario by the late Rev. A. E. M
Thomson, cousin of the bride.
Mr. Cook is well-known in the
area, having been a former pre-
sident of Cook Bros. Milling
Company and Cook Bros, Auto
Sales, for many years.
Present at the family dinner
were their two sons and two
daughters, and their families.
They are Dr. Norma llopkin-
son of Lion's Ilead, Robert Cook,
Hensall, Douglas Cook, Hensall
and Eleanor Corlett, of Toronto.
They also have twelve grand-
children.
In the afternoon and evening,
Mr. and Ivlrs. Cook enjoyed
calls made by neighbours and
friends.
A framed scroll was received
from the Government of Ontario
and the Hon, William Davis..
Telegrams of congratulation
were received from the Prime
Minister of Canada, Pierre E.
Trudeau, Governor General and
Mrs. Roland Michener, Hon,
Robert Stanflied, Hon. Charles
MacNaughton and Robert E,
McKinley, M. P.

Ann Dalton exchanged marriage
vows recently in Immaculate
Heart of Mary Church, Grand
Bend. Baskets of pink and
mauve mums and gladioli dec-
orated the altar.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Dalton,
Grand Bend ar.d the groom's
parents are Mr; and Mrs, Louis
Ducharme, R. R. 2, Zurich.

uncles of the bride performed
the double ring ceremony.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. Legoda
and Venise lace was used in
styling her beautiful wedding
gown. The bodice featured
a high wedding band neckline,
empire style waist and lily
point sleeves. The neckband
and sleeves were trimmed with
Venise lace and a matching
band of lace encircled the
high waist line and adorned the
centre front of the bodice. This
topped a slim fitting A-line
skirt. Back interest was centered
on a group of soft gathers fall-
ing to a court train. She wore
a Camelot cap and cathedral
veil of silk illusion edged with
lace and carried a bouquet of
white roses and purple carnat-
ions.
Julie Dalton, sister of the
bride, Grand Bend, was matron
of honor and wore a floor
length gown of mauve floral
quit work

ire waist and full skirt. She
wore a large mauve picture hat
and carried a hand bouquet of
white roses and purple carnat-
ions.
Bridesmaids were Sandra
Dalton, sister -in --law of the
bride, Grand Bend, Carol
Ducharme, sister-in-law of
the groom, Hensall and Lori
Lynn Rau was flower girl. They
were all dressed the same as
the matron of honor.
Larry Ducharme, brother of
the groom, llensall was grooms-
man, and James and Dan Dalt-
on, brothers of the bride usher-
ed the guests. They all wore
tuxedoes. Carmen Bedard was
ringbearer.
Organist, Paul Dietrich,
Mt. Carmel, assisted soloist,
Ilarry lloffman, Dashwood.
A reception was held in the
Zurich Cominunity Centre.
For receiving guests the
bride's mother chose a peacock
blue coat dress and a corsage
of pink roses and the groom's
mother assisted wearing a purple
lace dress and a corsage of
yellow roses.
For a wedding trip through
Northern Ontario, the bride
changed to a brown and beige
suit and a corsage of yellow
roses.
The couple will reside on
the Bluewater Highway, north
of St. Joseph.
The groom is employed at
Hurondale Dairy, Hensall,
and the bride operates the Vill-
age Beauty Shop, in Zurich,.

Youth service at
Hensall Church
A special Youth Service
arranged by the Youth Group
of Hensall United Church feat-
uring the "New Expression"
from Thorndale, will be held
Sunday, November 28.
A coffee house, also featuring
this group, will be held in the
evening at 7.30 p.m. in the
church basement.
Sunday school session will
be withdrawn so that the child-
ren and teachers may attend
this service.
