Hensall wins opener at Zurich
The Hensall Generals spoiled
the home debut of the Zurich
Flyers on Tuesday night, when
they clipped them 5-3 in South
Huron Hockey League action.
A bad second period proved to
be the downfall for the locals
as the Hensall crew outscored
them 4-1,
The two teams battled on
even terms throughout most of
the first period, until Gary
Kyle shot the visitors into a
1-0 lead with less than a min-
ute to play.
At the 3.20 mark in the sec-
ond period Larry Merner banged
in a pass from Jim Ramer to tie
the score at 1-1, but this was
short-lived as Craig Chapman
scored five minutes later to
give Hensall the lead again. In
the next six minutes the roof
fell in for the Flyers as Bill
Chipchase scored twice and Bob
Carlile came through with one
to give Hensall a commanding
5-1 lead.
In the third period the Zurich
six came roaring back strong,
