St, Boniface Roman Cath-

Given in marriage by her
father the bride looked lovely
in her floor -length wedding
gown fashioned from crystal
peau. Venish lace trimmed the

sheath sleeves, forming the
empire look and styling the
front on the A-line skirt. Lace

floral cluster held in place a
French- illusion blusher veil.
She carried a cascade of pink
sweetheart roses, and white
divinity with trailing ivy.
Matron of honour, Mrs.

The fitted bodice in blue sheer
had a flat band down the front,

had wide bands at wrist and
were edged in matching ruffles.

also wearing white divinity in
their hair.

fon bodice with lace trim,
black accessories and a mauve
orchid corsage. The groom's
another chose a raspberry crepe
dress with black accessories and
white cymbiduim orchid.

Stephen rejects fire deal
At its last meeting, Stephen
Township council failed to
accept a proposal from the
town of Exeter to increase the
township's share in the area fire
agreement.
The latest request from Exet-
er would have Stephen pay 20
percent of all fire department
costs while Usborne township
would pay 30 percent and Hay
10 percent and Exeter bearing
rhe balance of 40 percent.
In the present agreement,
Usborne and Exeter pay 40,
Stephen 12 and May 8.
In the proposed new agree-
ment, each municipality would
pay their percentage share of
all expenses incurred by the
Exeter fire department.
Council is asking for a meet-
ing with Exeter council as they
feel the new percentages are
not in order and to ask reasons
for the proposed change.
The contract for crushing and
stockpiling of approximately
22, 000 cubic yards of gravel
at Prout's pit in Usborne Town-
ship was let to R. 11, Jennison

of Grand Bend.
The Grand Bend firm, the
ohly one that replied to invited
tenders will do the necessary
work for 020 per cubic yard.
The township engineering
firm of Gamsby and Mannerow
was instructed to do a survey
and prepare the necessary plans
for repair and improvement of
the Schwartz and Centralia
municipal drains.
Council will consider projects
that would qualify under the
provincial incentive work prog-
ram which was announced
recently.
In a similar program last
year, Stephen did a considerable
amount of tree removal and
built a clubhouse at the Dash-
wood athletic field.
