R. 1, Varna, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hodgins, Crediton, Rev. Father A. Durand offic- iated for the double -ring ceremony. Wedding music was supplied by organist, Mrs. Walter MacDougald, and solo- ist, Miss Tanice MacDougald, of Fullarton. Given in marriage by her father the bride looked lovely in her floor -length wedding gown fashioned from crystal peau. Venish lace trimmed the wedding band neckline, edge of sheath sleeves, forming the empire look and styling the front on the A-line skirt. Lace motifs also appliqued the bod- ice and panel of the skirt. A floral cluster held in place a French- illusion blusher veil. She carried a cascade of pink sweetheart roses, and white divinity with trailing ivy. Matron of honour, Mrs. Gordon Maloney, Stratford, sister of the bride, was gowned in a floor -length pant dress. The fitted bodice in blue sheer had a flat band down the front, edged in ruffled sheer that blended with the round ruffled neckline. The long sleeves had wide bands at wrist and were edged in matching ruffles. The blue floral print pant skirt was set off with matching print band at waist, Bridesmaids Miss Mary Oesch, sister of the bride, and Miss Mary Hodgins, sister of the groom, were gowned alike in pink pant gowns, They all car- ried cascades of straw flowers, baby poms and white divinity, also wearing white divinity in their hair. Gordon Maloney, Stratford, was best man and Randy Parsons and Ron Amerongen ushered the guests. A wedding reception and dance was held in the Exeter Legion Hall. The bride's mother received guests in a deep mauve crepe dress with white pleated chif- fon bodice with lace trim, black accessories and a mauve orchid corsage. The groom's another chose a raspberry crepe dress with black accessories and white cymbiduim orchid. For a honeymoon to Nash- ville, Tennessee and the Southern States, the bride donned a brown dress with white lace trim, beige coat, brown accessories and a cor- sage of tiny sweetheart roses. On their return the couple will reside at R. R.1, Crediton. ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS PAGE 5 Stephen rejects fire deal At its last meeting, Stephen Township council failed to accept a proposal from the town of Exeter to increase the township's share in the area fire agreement. The latest request from Exet- er would have Stephen pay 20 percent of all fire department costs while Usborne township would pay 30 percent and Hay 10 percent and Exeter bearing rhe balance of 40 percent. In the present agreement, Usborne and Exeter pay 40, Stephen 12 and May 8. In the proposed new agree- ment, each municipality would pay their percentage share of all expenses incurred by the Exeter fire department. Council is asking for a meet- ing with Exeter council as they feel the new percentages are not in order and to ask reasons for the proposed change.
