plan special
meeting
The Women's Missionary
Society of Carmel Presbyterian
Church, Hensall held their
business meeting Monday,
November 1, at 8.15 p.m., with
Mrs. R.A. Orr presiding, She
opened the meeting with a
prayer from the Glad Tidings
monthly book.
Preparations are being made
for the Tuesday, November 9,
meeting with a guest speaker,
Miss Hazel Macdonald, of
Goderich, who was a missionary
in Tiawan, Ethibpia and Guy-
ana, and lately in Kenya Africa,
Guests are invited to attend
from two local churches and
Arnold Circle and llome Help-
ers as well as those who would
like to hear her.
Program convenors are Mrs.
Orr and Mrs. Earl Campbell;
ushers will be Mrs Ruby Hog-
garth and Mrs. Rocus Faber.
Ladies Aid Meeting followed
with preparations fnr a bazaar
and bake sale for Saturday
afternoon, November 20.

Sr., Hensall, celebrated their
68th wedding anniversary, on
November 6, quietly at the
Bluewater Rest Home with all
the family attending.
Dr. Norma Hopkinson, Lion's
Head, spent Tuesday and Wed-
nesday at the home of her par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. N. E, Cook.
Lynne and Joan Dodds spent
the weekend with their grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sim
Roobol.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kyle
and son of George -town, form-
erly of St. Thomas, spent rhe
weekend with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Byron Kyle.
On Sunday, November 14, at
11 a, m, Remembrance Day Ser-
vices will be held in llensall
United Church with members
of the Legion Auxiliary as guests
A congregational fun and
games night will be held in the
Clinton Education Building at
Hensall United Church on Dec-
ember 4, at eight o'clock.
The Hensall United Church
choir are now working on their
Christmas music, but need
more voices. If anyone could
be of any assistance it would
sure be appreciated.
On Tuesday, November 2,
Ilensall Legion Ladies Auxiliary
met for their monthly meeting
with Mrs, Ernie Davis presiding
Plans were made for a
Christmas parry for children of
Legion members on December
19.
The Legion Ladies Auxiliary
will join with the Legion Men
in a Remembrance Day Service
in the United Church on Nov-
ember 14. It was decided that
the Ladies Auxiliary would
cater to banquets in November
and December. Ar the regular
meeting in December there is
to be an exchange of gifts.
Mystery prize was won by

was won by Iva Reid,

discuss angels
Unit IV of the United Church
Women of Hensall United
Church met on November 4,
with Mrs, lames McAllister
presiding. The thought for
today, "For,.Planet Earth, it is
Christ's Way or Chaos."
The devotional was taken by
Mrs. Leona Park reading Acts
12 Verses 1-17, followed by
prayer by Mrs. Eric Luther.
The Bible Study was given
by Mrs. Eric Luther who took
as her topic "Angels," She
traced through the Scriptures ,
the appearance of Angels who
are Messengers of God and
whose purpose is to do God's
service and defend men on
earth.
Collection was taken by Mrs.
Jarvis Horton and Mrs, Grace
1 Iarpole.
Reports were given b: the
treasurer, Mrs. Thomas Slier-
ritt, who reported $586.35 in
givings and $139 in project
money. Mrs. Russell Errat
reported 15 boxes packed and
sent to the needy. vlrs, Earl
Rowe reported on the Regional

Mrs. Laird Mickle accomp-
anied at the'piano for the sing-
ing of the hymns. Lunch was
served by the hostesses and
the committee in charge.

Obituary
MRS, A.C. WRENCH
At South Huron hospital, Exet-
er, on Sunday, November 7,
Mrs, Archie C. Wrench, aged
76, the former Anna Maude
Madge, passed away. She was
the beloved wife of the late
Archie C. Wrench; dear mother
'of Harold and Kenneth Elder,
R, R. 2, , Hensall; Mrs. Erling
(Audrey) Lund, Pittsburgh, Penn.
sister of Percy Madge, Vancouv-
er B.C.; and Dr. Norman Madge,
Aurora. Also surviving are elev-
en grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren.
The body rested at the Bonth-
ron funeral home, Hensall,
where the funeral service took
place on Tuesday, November
9, at 12 noon, with Rev. B.C.
Eckardt and Rev. Don Beck offic-
iating, Interment was in Lake-
view Cemetery, Leamington.
