The marriage will take place on Saturday, November 27, 1971, at 7 o'clock, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, London. Letter to the Editor. October 23, 1971 Goderich, Ontario. Zurich Citizens News, Zurich, Ontario. Dear Sir: We have concluded a vigor- ous exercise in democracy. This accomplishment has been the collective accomplishment of a team of workers who fought with untiring energy. I cannot find words to convey my sinc- ere gratitude for those efforts. In upholding the deniocratic tradition, we have placed before the voters of Huron, an altern- ative. Their choice must be accepted in good spirits and witl a basic enthusiasm for the fact that we in Ontario enjoy the privilege and the freedom of choice that an election provides. In looking forward, may I suggest to all that I will give my utmost to further contribut- ions to our community as a member of Goderich Town Council and as a Reeve for Iiuron County. I will co-operate with vigour in those matters of municipal business involving the Province of Ontario. In doing so, I will also continue, in a highly constructive man- ner, the periodic criticisms of PREACHING MISSION emphasizing: CHURCH RENEWAL MISSIONS EVANGELISM By a dynamic Former Missionary to South America Rev. elkon Litwiller Goshen, Indiana -Special music each night -Slides of South America on certain nights SPECIAL YOUTH NIGHT ON FRI NOV.12 NOVEMBER 7 thru 14 8 p.m. nightly Blake Mennonite Church programmes and policies which can be improved or altered. I must give public acknow- ledgement to the untiring and driving force that has kept me moving ahead in this campaign: My wife, Mary, has sacrificed much. To the countless workers and voters, I offer my thanks. It has been an honour to have. the privilege of participating in one of the most exciting elections in the history of this Riding. Anniversary Services at Em- manuel United Church, mark- ing the 97th observance, were held on Sunday, October 24, with near capacity audiences attending. Guest speaker was the Rev. Ilaward Plant, 13,A„ B. D, of Scarborough, formerly minister at Brucefield-Kippen and Parkview United Church in Stratford. Mr, Plant is presently engaged in a probat- ion work ministry in the east end of Toronto. The speaker took as his morning theme "Let's Celebr- ate, " basing his remarks on Psalm 100, and Luke 15, the rejoicing father in the parable of the Prodigal Son. "Our reasons for celebrating, are because of the underlying love of God and not just to introduce novelty or gimmicks into wor- ship services. The evening message dealt with 1lagar and Ishmael's predicament and the many folk in modern day situations who wonder if anyone is listening. "Hagar discovered God was listening. " Citing some of young people he counsels, Mr. Plant urged the necessity of the listening, sensitive ear to the needs of people today. The music for the day was provided by the choir of Em- manuel Church, directed by Mr4, Milton Oesch. Their numbers included; "Iioly Is The Lord, " "Let Not Your Ilcart be Troubled" and "Close to Thee." Special duets were provided at the morning service by Grant and Kenneth Jones, of Kippen. In the evening, ,the Alfred Ropp Family, of Ailsa Craig, with their five piece musical ensemble, sang several "south- ern gospel songs." 0 !Cream puffs eat cake & ice creak (by Martha Neeb) Meeting five was held at the home of Mrs. Neeb.
