Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kerr,
the former Elaine Pecl<, daugh-
ter of the late Dr. LW. Peck,
formerly of Hensall, and son
Gordon, of Burlington, were
weekend guests of Mrs. R. M.
Peck.
Mr. and Mrs. Sim Roobol
visited over the weekend with
the latter's brother, Mr. Anth-
ony Gelderland of Ridgetown.

WILLIAM HARVEY
William J. Harvey, of London
formerly of Hensall area, pass-
ed away on Thursday, October"
21, at St. Joseph's Hospital,
London. He was 67.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Irene Taylor; two broth-
ers, Gordon and Ted, of Mich-
igan, L' , S , A , ; one sister,
(Gladys), Mrs. llarvey Mc -

Larnon, of Seaforth.
Public funeral service was
held at Bonthron's funeral home
on Sunday at 2 p.m., conduct-
ed by Rev. W.D. Jarvis. Int-
erment in Baird's cemetery.

FREDERICK DATARS
Frederick Datars, of Hensall
passed away,at Huronview,
Clinton, on Tuesday, October
19, at the oage of 85. He had
been a resident there for five
years.
Surviving are one son, Carl,
of Hamilton; two daughters,
Mrs. Henry (Irene) Simpson,
Exeter; one sister, Mrs. John
(Ethel) McBride, Zurich; also
six grandchildren and seven
great grandchildren.
Public funeral service was
held at the Bonthron Funeral
Home, Hensall, on Thursday,
October 21, at 10:30 a.m.,
with Rev. A. Blackwell offic-
iating. Interment was in St.
Peter's Lutheran cemetery,
Zurich.

There was lots of fun and
laughter when Klippen East
Women's Institute met at the
Legion Hall, Hensall, for the
Agriculture meeting. Members
carne attired in shorts, slacks,
night attire, aprons, field and
barn clothes, complete with
rubber boots and dirty faces.
Gifts were given to the earl-
iest call, Mrs. G. McLean;
the latest called, Mrs. A.
McGregor; the most missing
buttons, Mrs. A. 1'loggarth; the
most agriculture looking, I\ks.
J. Drummond; most dressed up,
Mrs. D. Triebner.
Jini Arnold, lluron County
Engineer, and Bruce Love
discussed pollution as it con-
cerns agriculture and the use of
pesticides.
Mrs. D. Brodie gave the
Motto, The Peace of the
World depends on Food." The
Roll Call was "One way in
which agriculture is changing
our lives."
Mrs. D. Adams gave a read-
ing, "October's Bright Blue
Weather, " and Mrs. R. Bell
conducted an "action reading."
The B and D children sang
several songs.
Reports were given by Mrs.
H. Caldwell and Mrs. R. Bell,
of the area convention, and
Mrs. 1\1. Connolly. Mrs. Bell
gave reports of the Rally. Mrs.
Alderdice reported on Ilorne
Economics and Health. Mrs.
K. McKay, citizenship and
education, and Mrs. S. Pepper
on "Sewing with knits."
A donation was Tilade to the
Erland Lee Ilomestead and
members were reminded of the
banquet at 0"30 at Dashwood
Industries. A silent auction
followed the meeting.
Mrs. R. Bell had charge of
the business and Mrs. Brodie
the program. Mrs. A. Mc-
Gregor and Mrs. D. Adams
were hostesses.
The regular meeting of 1lur-
onview home Auxiliary was
held on Monday afternoon with
president, Mrs. W. Colclough
in the chair.
Plans were made for the fall
Bazaar which is scheduled for
Wednesday, November 10, at
2:30 , in the auditorium. Each
women's Institute in the county
is requested to make, and put
on display, a poster to advert-
ise the important event, and
bring baking for the bake table.
Arrangements will be finalized
at the November 8 meeting.
Mrs. Higgins and Miss Hazel
Petts will be in charge of a
draw. Londesboro ladies will
shine in the kitchen. Mrs. H.
Johnston will convene the Tea
Room Committee.
