The soloist, Judy Mason, sister of the groom, was accomp• anied by Mrs. Ken McCrae, who also played the other wed- ding music. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her brother, Ross Jinks, of London. She wore a white polyester cashmere gown featuring an empire waist and flowing, floor -length veil. She carried red roses and mauve carnations. How to plant trees and shrubs Transplanting can damage trees and plants if it is not done properly. Use the following • principles as a guide to safe transferal. Before starting, the soil should be damp. I Use a sharp spade to cut the outer root of the plant and then I dig a circular trench. Gradually cut down the root ball to a size which will sever the fewest roots. Cut half way under the root ball' I on the one side, then on the other. A burlap sack or plastic sheet should be rolled under the root ball before moving the plant At the new location dig a hold about twice the size of the root ball. Place several inches of top soil mixture in the bottom then carefully lower the plant into place. The soil surface of the ball should be level with the existing grade. Add more soil and firm into place. Soak the root ball. Newly planted shade trees should be staked or otherwise supported until they are firmly .rooted. mauve carnations.
