Midgets down Rec chumps (by Gerry Rader) On Sunday at 2 p, m, the Zurich Midgets baseball team will challenge the champion Rec League team, the B . P's to a softball game. The B. P's already in hot water for braggin and boasting about baseball bei a girls game, got scalded last Sunday by the all -men midgets when they were soundly beaten by a score of 5-1. The midgets allowed the B. P.'s to call in well experienced Dick Bedard for mound duties. Now the manly midgets are calling for the Softball Rec League Champs to prove that they are the best in the soft- ball league, by challenging them to a game on the B, P.'s home ground. The B . P. 's will allow the midgets a pitcher out I of the league if they feel one is necessary, All men on the Midget squad of baseball players are 17 years and under. Since the Midgets have alre- ady proven who the best men are on the hardball diamond, lets see if the Rec League Champs can do the same on theirs. Here's hoping it won't be too embarassing!
