Unit 4 of UCW
Unit IV of Hensall United
Church Women met on Thursday,
September 9, with Mrs. James
McAllister presiding. Thought
for the day, "nature as God's
voice speaking in every season."
Devotional was taken by
Miss Greta Laramie, "Compas-
sion a Christ -like Quality." The
study period on Alaska was
conducted by Mrs. Harry Cald-
well.
Mrs. Erratt and Mrs. Rowe
received the offering. Report was
given by the treasurer, Mrs.
Tom Sherritt, showing $375.35
in the M & M and $97 from
quilting.
Plans were made for the gen-
eral meeting to be held Sept-
ember 20, with Unit IV in
charge, and for the wedding
dinner on October 2.
Closing Hymn was 297, follow,
ed by prayer.

from a tour of the Peace River
district, Yukon, Alaska and
British Columbia, by plane, bus ,
boat and train, - a total of
11, 000 miles.
Mrs. J.L. AIcCloy and daught-
ers, Cathy and Carrie, of Lond-
on and Don Mills, visited rec-
ently with Mrs. Alma Hess. •
Recent visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Sim Roobol were Mr. and
Mrs. Westdorp of Camp Borden,
and Mr. and Mrs. L. Vlassblom,
of Toronto.

OBITUARY
MRS, WILLIAM KYLE
The residents of Hensall and
community were saddened to
learn of the passing of a highly
respected citizen, hits. William
Kyle, who passed away in South
Huron Hospital, Exeter, on
September 11.
She was the former Florence
Vennor, and was in her 65th
year.
Mrs. Kyle is survived by her
husband; two sons, Tom of Lucan
Al at home; two daughters, Mrs.
Harold (Wilma) Caldwell, of
Hensall; Mrs. Janes (Bonnie)
Bozzats, of Port Colborne;
two brothers, Lloyd and Jini
of Iiensall.
The late Mrs. Kyle was a
member of Amber Rebekah Lodge
Hensall, also a member of the
Kippen East Women's Institute
and a member of Kippen United
Church.
Public funeral service was held
at the Bonthron funeral hoiue,
Ilensall on Monday, September
13, at 2 p. in. conducted by rhe
Rev. Packtnaii. Burial was in
Baird's Cemetery.
Obituary
ROBERT BAKER SR.
Robert Baker Sr. , of Hensall
passed away at Huronview Tues-
day, September 14, in his 85th
year, He had been a resident
at Huronview since January of
this year. He is survived by
eight sons, Glen, of London,
Austin, of Stratford, Robert Jr.,
of Mensal, Aieada, Winthrop,
Bruce of Kingston, John, Murray
and Bill, of Hensall. Five
daughters A.trs. Adam (Wanda)
Wilson, of Brucefield, Mrs.

Dashwood; Mrs. William (Clara)
Brown, Egmondville; Mrs. Bruce
(Irene) Tyndall, Clinton; Mrs.
Grant (Gladys) McGregor, Kipper
There are forty-three grand-
children and twenty-three great
grandchildren. His wife the
former Clara Meade predeceased
him several years ago. Resting
at the Bonthron funeral home,
Hensall where a private funeral
service will be held Thursday,
September 16, at 2 p. m. Rev.
W.D. Jarvis will officiate.
Burial will be made in Baird's
cemetery.
