Golden Glimpses
BLUE WATER REST, HOME
The Bean Festival has come
and gone, and I am sure if you
were around Zurich you would
agree that Zurich certainly be -
carne a very largely populated
place for the day. The Horne
also had a large number of visit-
ors throughout the day, some
visiting friends and relatives,
others just touring the building,
anxious to see the facilities we
have to offer. Bosco, the clown,
visited during the supper hour and
shook hands with all the residents
in the dining -room and provided
a bit of fun for them.
The days are becoming notic-
ably shorter, and we are making
plans for our weekly film night
to begin in the very near future,
We have received donations
from several people for this
worthy cause. At this time, we
would like to particularly thank
the summer residents of Turn -
bull's Grove for the generous
donation in memory of the late
Mr. Roy Landstrom, the father-
in-law of Mrs. Barbara Shephard,
R.N. A great deal of pleasure is
derived from these weekly films
shown here.
Last Wednesday evening, the
children of Grand Bend Pentecost-
al Sunday School visited and
provided music for the residents,
Sandra Graham
top catcher
Sandra Graham, 17 -year-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mel
Graham, Brucefield, has return-
ed home after participating in the
Canadian Senior Ladies Fastball
finals in Calgary, and brought
with her the trophy for the all-
star catcher of the entire tourna-
ment.
The team she played for, the
Kitchener Kieswetters brought
home the all -Canadian champion
ship, knocking out the City of
Calgary in the final round.
After losing one game to Calgary
5-4, they bounced back in the
next one with a convincing 4-0
score.
As well as performing brilliant
behind the batter, Sandra
came through with a batting
average of .444 for herself.
The only unfortunate incident
for the Brucefield girl carne in
the final game when she fract-
ured her ankle, and had to re-
tire from the game.

"'Service that Satisfies"'
The residents are looking forward
to their monthly visits,
We are grateful to Mr. and
Mrs. Elgin McKinley for the
lovely bouquets of gladioli and
the generous donation of fresh
garden vegetables. These are a
real treat for the residents.
The Sunday evening Chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
J. Huether, of the Zurich United
Church, accompanied by the
organist, Mrs. Milton Oesch.
