We had our evening of Irish films and entertainment as plan- ned, and are pleased to say we had a very nice turn out. The films shown were "Ireland in the Spring" and "No More Yesterday4 Between the showing of the films, we were pleased to have had Mrs. Orville Storey of Seaforth and some of her dance students who favoured us with some of the familiar Irish dances, accompan- ied on the piano by Mrs. Arnold Scott and on the violin by Mr. Nelson Howe, of Cromarty. Three little gentlemen favoured us with several tap dancing num- bers and three young ladies ent- ertained the audience with some Irish jigs. Following the program, refreshments and a social half hour were enjoyed. We are looking for used nylons, greeting cards, particularly get - well and birthday cards, also pieces of flannelette and print suitable for quilt tops for use in the hobby shop. We are grateful to Mr. and Mrs Harry Bassow for their generous donation of homemade jam and to Mr. Ferdinand I-Iaberer for his donation of honey. These treats are certainly enjoyed by the residents. The sympathy of the. Residents and Staff is extended to the fam- ily of the late Mrs. Evelyn Doyle who passed away last week. The chapel services during the past two weeks have been cond- ucted by Rev. A. Blackwell, of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich, and Rev. D. Warren of the Crediton United Church. 0 OBITUARY MRS, ANDREW THIEL A resident of this area for many years, Mrs, Andrew (Mabel Thiel, of Zurich, passed away in South Huron Hospital, on Tues- day, August 3, in her 77th year. She was born in Dunnville on September 7, 1894, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs, Thomas Hartnett. Surviving besides her husband is one sister, Mrs. Beatrice Newman, of Dunnville. The body rested at the West- lake funeral home, Zurich, un- til Friday morning when mass was sung at St. Boniface Church, Zurich, at 11 a.m. by Father A. Durand, Interment was in St. Michael's Cemetery, Dunnville. Pallbearers were Leroy Thiel, Carl Thiel, Glen Thiel, Aubrey Bedard, Lee Regier, and Lloyd Denomme, MOM Zurich Mennonite Cyril K. FRANCIS A. DOYLE A resident of Canada for al- most seven years, Mrs. Francis A. Doyle passed away at Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich, on Monday, August 2, in her 73rd year. She had been a resident at the home for the past couple of months and prior to that her and Mr. Doyle had been making their home in London. Born in South Wales on June 27, 1899, she was the former Eileen Monica Brooks, a daught- er of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Paul Brooks. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Dr. C, J. (Moira) Wallace, Zurich, and Mrs. George (Monica) Antipas, of Surrey, England, There is also one son, Eugene, of New Canon, Connecticut, and seven grand- children. The body rested at the Westlaki funeral home, Zurich until Wed- nesday morning, when removal was made to St. Boniface Church,, Zurich, where mass was conduct-' ed by Father A. Durand at 10 a.m. Interment was in the churcl cemetery. Pallbearers were Douglas Arm- I strong, James Hogg, Stewart Deitz, Dr. B. Eickmeier, Josef Risi and Herb Turkheim, 0 MRS, GEORGE WILSON A former resident of Hay Township for many years, Mrs. George Wilson, R. R. 3, Bayfield, passed away at Clinton Public Hospital on August 1, 1971. She was the former Pearl Luella Car- oline Gallman, the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Gallman. She was in her 68th year. Surviving is her husband, George Wilson, of Stanley Town- ship, where they made their home since their marriage on December 31, 1948. A brother, John Gallman, of Zurich, also survives. Another brother, Henry, and a sister, Mary Beaver pre- deceased her a few years ago. Surviving also are nieces, Mrs. James Boyes, of Bayfield, Mrs, Murray Brunskill, of Belmont, and Mrs. Marjorie Weido, of Zurich. The funeral service was from the Westlake funeral home, Zurich, on Tuesday, August 3, to St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery for burial. Rev. A. Blackwell officiated. The pallbearers were John Wild, Torn Penhale, Bert Greer, Les Armstrong, Mel Greer, Paul Weido. Fiowerbearers were Danny Johnston, Wilfred Saylor. Emmanuel United Church ZURICH Rev.
