NEW UNIFORMS - The Zurich Midget hardball team have recently been outfitted with brand
new uniforms, thanks to the generosity of the people of the community who supported their
waikathon early this spring. Members of the team are, back row left to right, Lloyd Thornton,
coach, Bill Webster, Gerald Weido, Bill Bedard, Harvey Desjardine, Pat Bedard. Middle row
left to right, Jerry Rader, manager, John Mommersteeg, Danny Schilbe, Gerard Charrette, Paul
Truemner, Fred Mommersteeg, coach. Front row left to right, Kim McKinnon, Don Ayotte,
Rick Regier, Rick Grenier, Jim Wildfong, and David Thornton, batboy. After a slow start the
Midgets have been coming on strong in the last couple of weeks, and will be a serious threat to
opposing teams in the playoffs.

Honour couple on
40th anniversary
On July 15, Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Neeb celebrated their
40th wedding anniversary. The
previous Sunday, their daughter,
Mrs. Gordon Hay, entertained
over 30 relatives and friends to
a smorgasbord dinner in their
honour.
A three -layer wedding cake
centred the table. Guests were
present from London, Glencoe
and Exeter.
Mr. and Mrs. Neeb were rec-
ipients of many useful gifts as a
remembrance of their anniversary.

Zurich Midgets down Goderich; lose
7-0 to powerful Crediton crew
Last Thursday night the Zurich
Midget hardball team were down-
ed 7-0 by Crediton in a game
which Larry Gibson allowed only
one Zurich hit.
Crediton took a 2-0 lead in the
second inning and went ahead
3-0 by the end of the third. In
the fourth inning they scored three
more runs to go ahead 6-0. The
final Crediton run came in the
sixth inning.
The only hitting for Crediton
was Rick Bowers, David Parsons
Bill Hodge and Dan Haugh.
Other Crediton runs were scored.
on errors and walks by the Zurich
team.
ZURICH 10 - GODERICH 2
On Sunday afternoon the Mid-
gets livened up the ball park
again as they came up with a
convincing 10-2 victory over God-
erich.
Zurich took an early lead when
their first two batters scored runs
in the first inning. Zurich knock-
ed in three more runs in the sec-
ond inning, while holding God-
erich to one.
The locals rallied for their last
five runs'in the third inning to
make it a 10-1 ball game. God-
erich scored their last run in the
fourth to end the scoring in the
game.
Rick Grenier was strong at the
Zurich bat knocking out a triple
and a single. Don Ayotte, along
with Rick Regier, each added two
singles while Gerard Charrette,
John Mommersteeg and Pat Bed-
ard hit one single each.
Pat Bedard and John Mommer-
steeg shared pitching chores for
Zurich while Wildgen and Yed-
man pitched for the losers.
