News Along The Shore of Beautiful Lake Huron
During the past week visitors
at the home of Mrs, Alfred
Ducharme were, Mrs. Alphonse
Stansberry of Grosse Pointe
Woods, Mrs. Nelson Papineau,
of Windsor, Cyrille Ducharme,
of Windsor, Blaise and Joyce
from their cottage on the Blue -
water, Blanche and Bill of the
Bluewater south, Leo Pierre, of
Grand Bend, New Venice Farms.
Card games of euchre and solo
were enjoyed by all and the
losers walk around with their
heads in shame, the guilty party
will know who this refers too,
even with the Woman's Liberat-
ion out in front in the news, littli
can be said of the accomplish-
ments at the Ducharme home as
far as cards are concerned.
Mr. Patrick Whaler visited
Blaise and Joyce Ducharme at
their cottage Saturday evening.
Mr. Whaler is a successful Ins-
urance man from the Goderich
area and a long time friend of
the above.
Mr. and Mrs. Kip Green of
Grand Bend, visited Mr. and
Mrs. Blaise Ducharme this past
week, also old time friends, and
many interesting stories of the
past were recounted.
Mrs. Sarah Jeffrey, Cherrie
and Gerard visited Mrs. A. Duch-
arme Sunday last, Mrs. Jeffrey
being a sister of Mrs. Ducharme.
Visitors at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Pete Ducharme over
last weekend were Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Finn and family, of Windsor;
Mr. and, Mrs. John Denomme,
and family, of Windsor and Mr,
and Mrs. Pete Ducharme and
family, also of Windsor.
Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Jeffrey
were visited Sunday by Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Siemon, of Zurich,
and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jeffrey
and family of the Bluewater for
Sunday dinner. They were joined
Sunday evening by Mrs. Sarah
Jeffrey and Gerard.
Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Cantin
and fancily and friend Judy,
returned home Sunday after
spending the weekend at their
cottage.
John Paul Cantin returned
Sunday after spending the week-
end with his family at St.Joseph.
Mrs. Cantin and family are
spending the restof the summer
at their cottage.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Brisson
of Detroit returned home Sunday
after spending the weekend at
their cottage at St. Josephs.

Detroit returned home Sunday
after spending the weekend at
their cottage.
Rabbit breeders
meet at Elimville
The monthly meeting of the
South Huron Rabbit Breeders
Association was held on Tues-
day evening, July 13, in Elim-
ville Hall.
A marketing report read by
Bill Dickey followed the reading
of the minutes. A treasurer's
report was given by Angus Mur-
ray.
Guest speaker of the evening
was Ib Peters of St. George, a
member of the Grand Valley
Rabbit Club and secretary of the
Canadian Commercial Rabbit
Growers Association, who spoke
on the advantages of that assoc-
iation.
Mr. Peters also gave an exhib-
ition of articles made of rabbit
fur which included men's vests
and hats and ladies' jackets and
purses. There followed consider-
able discussion of members on
small acreages having trouble
with building restrictions in re-
gards to raising rabbits.
The annual club picnic will
be held in August. Club crests
are now available to club memb-
ers.
Auctioneer for the Dutch Auct-
ion was Bob Brand and winner
of the prize was Norris Desjardine
The name of Lewis Davey was
drawn on the accumulated prize
but as he was absent, the prize
was held and will be drawn at
the next meeting.
Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Cantin
and son of Detroit returned home
Sunday after spending the week
at the cottage of Mr, and Mrs.
Nap Cantin.
