UNITED CHURCH WOMEN
The June meeting of Calvary
United Church Women was in
charge of Community Friend-
ship and Visiting group and was
opened by a call to worship by
chairlady, Mrs. Sid Baker. She
also read the scripture and led in
prayer. Mrs. Ken McCrae was
pianist.
Mrs. Gordon Bender read the
meditation "Love is Kind." A
trio, Mrs. Jack Gaiser, Mrs.
Gordon Bender, and Mrs. Mervyn
Tieman sang. Mrs. Bender read
a letter from Della Watson who
teaches in Africa. A number
know Della from times she has
been here on holidays.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
The friends and relatives of
Mx. and Mrs. Fred Batstone, of
Richmond Hill, celebrated their
Silver wedding anniversary, at
the cottage of Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Gascho on Saturday, June 12.
Those attending from Toronto
were their four children, Jean,
Kay, Ruth, and Tom, and friend
Skip Gardner; Mr. and Mrs. Rex
Knight; and Mr. and Mrs. Bud
Montgomery and son Jim, of
Guelph.
Also present were members
of their family from Zurich;
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Turkheim;
Mr. and Mrs. Herb Turkheim;
Mrs. Anne Turkheim; Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Gascho; Mr. and Mrs.
Doug O'Brien; and Mrs. Garry
Rogers, of Windsor.

Plans were finalized for the
Strawberry Social to be held
June 24 at the Community Centre
Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid serv-
ed lunch and entertained at the
June Birthday Party for the Blue -
water Rest Home, Wednesday,
June 9. Group II with Mrs. Ern-
est Koehler convener was in
charge. The Junior choir sang
several selections. Piano solos
were played by Joanne Hayter,
Rick Hayter, Sherri Stade and
Janet Miller. Accordion select-
ions by Carol Rader. Vocal duets
by Joanne and Jayne Hayter;
piano duet by Joanne and Jayne
Hayter.
At a brief business meeting,
Mrs. James Hayter and Mrs.
Marry Hayter are the new Altar

Huron Hospital.
Mrs. Howard Maier has return-
ed home from St. Joseph's Hosp-
ital, London, where she under-
went surgery.
