Married in St. Boniface Church
NEILANDS - HENDERSON
St. Boniface Roman Catholic
Church, Zurich, was the scene
of a pretty spring wedding Sat-
urday, May 29, at 3 p.m. when
Father A. Durand assisted by
Rev. A, G. Anderson united in
marriage Kathleen A. Henderson
daughter of Mrs. John Henderson,
Hensall, and the late John
Henderson, and Thomas A.
Neilands, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Neilands, of Hensall, in
a double ring ceremony amid a
floral background of standards
of yellow roses, blue iris and
baby breath. Traditional wedding
music was played by Mrs. S.
Meidinger.
Given in marriage by her
brother, John Henderson, the
bride was lovely in her floor
length wedding gown of white
moss crepe, styled with empire
waist, smock bodice, long full
sleeves gathered to a ruffle, with
a ruffle around the neck. Her
long veil was caught to a head-
piece of white carnations and
baby's breath, and she carried
a bridal bouquet of yellow rose
buds, lily of the valley, small
blue iris and baby breath.
Bridal attendants were Mrs.
Jean Underwood, of Gorrie,
sister of the bride, as matron of
honor, and Miss Pamela Lindsay,
Ingersoll, and Miss Sheila Lind-
say, Ingersoll, nieces of the
bride, were bridesmaids. They
were gowned identical in floor
length gowns of white batiste
bodice, peter pan collar trimmed
with ruffle, long full sleeves with
ruffled cuff, skirts of periwinkle
blue bateste, empire waist trim-
med with blue flowers. Head-
pieces were periwinkle blue bows
with blue flowers. They carried
bouquets of yellor roses, tiny
white mums and baby's breath.
Groomsmen were Lloyd Regier,
London, and John Neilands,
Hensall, brother of the groom.
Following the service the rec-
eption was held at St. Paul's
Anglican Church, Hensall.
For their honeymoon the bride
travelled in a navy and white
crepe dress over which she wore
a tweed coat, with a corsage of
red carnations.
The young couple will reside
in Hensall.
Out of town guests were from
Ingersoll, London, St. Marys,
Gorrie, Clinton, Exeter and
Hen!all.

Legion A„, i a'i'ry
Makes Donations
President Mrs. E, R, Davis
presided for the June meeting
of Hensall Legion Ladies Auxil-
iary, Tuesday, June 1. Ten
dollars was donated to the Salvat-
ion Army. A letter of appreciat-
ion was read from the Crippled
Children's Centre, London. for
the gift of two wheel chairs for
the crippled children which were
purchased from a draw for an
Easter basket of groceries. Proc-
eeds amounted to $183. Plaques
will be placed on the chairs in-
dicating the donors. In charge of
this project was Mrs. Clarence
Reid.
Three members of the execut-
ive committee were installed by
the president.

old sidewalk and laying new sidewalk—approximately 1,000
feet long, 4 feet wide, 4 inches thick.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bonthron
and Shelley attended Graduation
ceremonies on May 28, at Cent-
ennial Hall, for their daughter,
Janice, a student of Fanshawe
College in London. Janice was
awarded her diploma on comp-
letion of the Early Childhood
Teacher's Education Programme.
After the ceremonies, they cel-
ebrated by having dinner at the
Latin Quarter.
Mrs. Jeanne Gladding, Mrs.
Jean Turner, and Mrs. Greta •
Lavender attended the Guiders
Training at Klahane last week-
end. This is the first camp held
on the new Ilurorn Division Girl
Guide Camp Site.
Mr. and Mrs, Ross Forrest and
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Brock
attended Convocation at the
The president presented a gift
to Mrs. Harry Horton, who has
held the position of Sergeant at
Arms for twenty- one years, but
is unable to continue in this role
owing to ill health.
Past president Mrs. Garnet
Allan presented a gift to Mrs.
Ralph Fitzpatrick, who is leaving
this area with her husband and
family for the west.
In a special draw Mrs. Garnet
Allan was the winner. Sports
Officer Mrs. Clarence Reid
was in charge.
Mrs. Howard Smale won the
mystery prize; Mrs. W, H. Bell,
the guessing prize; and Mrs.
Fitzpatrick the attendance prize.
Meetings will resume in Sept-
ember with a pot luck lunch.
Following the meeting member
enjoyed a smorgasbord dinner at
Hensall Hotel.
University of Guelph last Friday
when David Brock received his
B. Sc. in Agriculture.
Mr, and Mrs. Laird Mickle
spent a few days last week
holidaying in Toronto.
Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Jared;

Arva; Miss Evelyn Jarvis; Mr.

were guests Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Laird Mickle.

Ceremonies on June 5, at Humb-
er College of Applied Arts and
Technology in Toronto, for
their son, Bevan. He was award-
ed his diploma on completion
of the Funeral Service Education
Programme, after which was
celebrated by a dinner and form-
al dance at the Seaway Hotel ,
in the evening.

to take a full two weeks before
the next board meeting to study
all the ramifications of Dr.
Deather's full proposal, including
his thoughts to set up a type of
teacher advisory committee to
the board, Mrs. J.W. Wallace,
also of Goderich, made reference
to a convention she had attended
where it had been advocated
that teachers be involved in
budget -making with the board
of education.
