FILBEY - MOKENZIE
A pretty spring wedding took
place at Hensall United Church
recently when Rev. Harold F.
Currie united in marriage Elean-
or Isabel McKenzie and Alvin
Lloyd Filbey, R, R. 2 Kent Bridge
The bride is the daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mc-
Kenzie of Kippen.
For her wedding, the bride
chose a blue crepe dress with
lace sleeves and A-line skirt,
and she carried a white Bible
crested with pink sweetheart
roses.
The bride was attended by her
sister, Mrs. Harold Cudmore,
R. R. 1 Hensall, who wore a
cream crimplene dress.
The groom was attended by
his brother-in-law, Harold Cud -
more. The wedding dinner was
held at the Dufferin Hotel,
Centralia.

This past week has had a little
more activity than usual and I
think is welcomed by most of
the residents.
On Wednesday evening, we
held our evening of Dutch ent-
ertainment. The films, "Magic
Carpet of Tulip Land and "A
Gift From Dirk" were very much
enjoyed by everyone and I am
sure brought many of our Dutch
visitors close to home. The
members of the Christian Reform
Church Choir, Exeter, under the
direction of Mr. Dehaan, provid-
ed,the musical program, and
all of us here are indeed grateful
for the time and talent of this
group. We hope they will plan
to visit again in the near future.

Suggested Retail Price
Bingo was played as usual on
Thursday evening.
Judging by the reports 1 have
received, the May Day Tea and
Bake Sale held last Saturday
afternoon was a huge success.
I am sure the Members of the
Auxiliary are grateful to all who
donated articles for the bake
table and all who helped to make
the event a success.
Perhaps you have read our
sign announcing that we will be
' holding a strawberry festival on
Saturday, June 26 from 2 p.m.
to 7 p.m., proceeds of which
will go towards the purchase of
a small bus for resident use.
Further announcements will be
made later. We appreciate the
time and effort put into the
making of the posters for this
event. They were made by the
children of the Zurich Public
and St. Boniface Separate School
and we think they are very inf-
ormative and attractive. Thank
you very much. We also want
to thank Mrs. Josephine Dietrich
for her gift of playing cards, and
Father A. Durand for his gener-
ous cash donation to be used for
film rentals for the enjoyment
of the residents, r believe don-
ations of used nylons for use in
the hobby shop would be much
appreciated.
Rev. Lloyd H. Kalbfleisch,
Zurich, had charge of the even-
ing chapel service on Sunday,
and Mrs, Kalbfleisch presided at
the organ. I mentioned in this
column last week that on Sun-
day evening, June 13 we will be
showing the films "A Christian
