Goshen Women
Honor Mothers
At Meeting
Mrs. Gerald Hayter was host-
ess for the Goshen United Church
Women's meeting at her home
Thursday night, May 20. The
meeting opened with a reading
by Mrs. Allan Hayter. A song
"Faith of our Mothers, "
was sung. Mrs. Berne McKinley
accompanied with her ukelele.
A verse about Mother was
read by Mrs. Elmer 1-Iayter. The
scripture was taken from Proverbs
and read by Mrs. Allan Hayter,
A short story entitled "Mother's
Teaching" was read by Mrs,
Allen Armstrong. Tributes to
Mother were read by everyone.
Mrs. Allen Hayter read a
story a "Great Mother, " A trio
composed of Mrs. Berne McKin-
ley, Mrs. Anson McKinley and
Mrs. Elmer Hayter sang a lovely
song entitled "Mother". Mrs.
Allen Hayter then read a poem
"Our Mother,"
Mr. and Mrs. Johnston, of
Clinton showed their pictures of
a recent trip to Trinidad. Mrs.
Elmer Hayter thanked them and
Mrs. Berne McKinley presented
the couple with a rose bush on
behalf of Goshen U, C, W,
Mrs. Arnold Keys was in
charge of business, Minutes were
read and roll call was answered
with, "Something your Mother
taught you." Offering was re-
ceived.
Thank -you cards and letters
were read by Mrs. Jack Eckel.
Mrs. Arnold Keys read a letter
regarding membership fees. .
Bale is to be packed on Tuesday,
and it was reported that all work
completed at manse,
Mrs. Elgin McKinley asked for
10 volunteers to work at a Straw-
berry supper at the Rest Horne, in
June, from 6 o'clock to 7.30 p. m
Mrs. Jack Eckel made a motion
that 10 volunteers would go to
help, and Mrs. Floyd Armstrong
seconded the motion, and also
mentioned the UCW were invited
to a Tea and Bazaar at the Rest
Home.
Meeting closed with prayer
by Mrs. Allan Hayter, and Mrs.
Melvin Elliott's group served
lunch.
