News Along The Shore of Beautiful Lake Huron
Visitors over the long weekend
at the home of Mr. and Mrs,
Dominic Jeffrey included Mr.
and Mrs. Patrick Jeffrey and
Denise; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Jeffrey, Lynda Jeffrey and Joe
Denomme, all of London, and
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jeffrey of
the Bluewater.
John and Richard Mommerstee€
spent a very exciting four days
this past week on a tour of New
York City and the United Nations
The boys left by bus from Brant-
ford on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Ross, of
Toronto, were visited at their
cottage at Bayview by Brian Ross
and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ross, alsl
of Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell, of
London were visited at their cot-
tage by Mrs. Mitchell's aunt,
Mrs. Jean McCrimmon, also of
London.
The Bayview Cottage Owners
Association held their first meet-
ing of the season at the cottage
of Rev Chub Darling. After the
business part of the meeting,
refreshments were served by Mrs,
Kay Darlong, the Social Conv-
enor of the Committee. Mr.
Bob Taylor, president, presided
over the meeting and other
officers, Mr. Cook, public
relations officer, Mss. Marg
Sandercott, secretary treasurer,
Wilf Mitchell, road commission-
er, and Allan Ross, press report-
er, all assumed the roles to whicl
they were nominated last Sept-
ember.
Mrs. Pierre Cantin and daught-
ers Suzette and Michelle came
house cleaning at their cottage
Sunday in St. Joseph.
Mr. and Mrs. Nap Cantin and
son Robert visited their cottage
at Cantin Beach last weekend.
Mrs. Valerie Cantin, Victor
Brisson, Claudette and Denise
Brisson, all of Detroit spent the
weekend at the home of Mrs.
Cantin in St. Joseph.
Micheal Berlin spent a few
days last week visiting his grand
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton
Bossenberry, at their cottage
at Green Acres.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Regier of
the Town Line, spent the week-
end visiting relatives in Windsor.
Mrs. Antoinette Bourque has
returned to her hone in St.
Joseph after spending the winter
in the United States,
Mr. and Mrs. Art Gaiser, of
Exeter spent the weekend at
their cottage at St. Joseph. Mr.
and Mrs. Doug Knowles, of Am-
herstburg, spent a hilb.rious week-
end at their cottage at St. Jos-
eph, two doors from the above
mentioned party. Mr. R, C .
Dinney and son-in-law Thomas
Sayso, were also embibers of
the festivities, but were unfort-
unately called away due to a
death.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Rau and
family of Ottawa visited with
Mr. Rau's parents for the long
weekend.
Hensall
Fifteen canvassers from Hensall
United Church, Carmel Presbyt-
erian Church and St. Paul's
Anglican Church canvassed the
Village of Hensall and collected.
$238.65 for the Bible Society.
Mrs. Sim Roobol headed the
project.
In recent Western Ontario
Conservatory of music exams,
the following were successful.
Brenda Pepper, Grade Three
Honours; Wilhelmina Blom,
Grade Five pass; All were pupils
of lvlrs. F. Forrest.
A bus load of Past Noble
Grands of Huron District motored
to Toronto on Tuesday, May
25, to tour the Ontario Place.
Members of Amber Rebekah Lod
will be guests of Clinton ,Huronic
Lodge June 7. The IOOF Lodge
223, and Amber Rebekah Lodge
will attend Divine service in
Hensall United Church Sunday,
May 30 at 11 a. m, and will be
addressed by Rev. Harold F.
Currie.
Mrs. Minnie Squires a patient
at Queensway Nursing Home,
Hensall, will celebrate her 88th
birthday Monday, May 31.

Hensail fireworks
Hensall Firemen staged a spec-
tacular fireworks display at Hen-
sall Park, Monday evening, May
24 at dusk, attended by fifteen
hundred spectators, and a long
line of some six hundred cars.
$600 worth of fireworks were
admired by the huge crowd.
John Baker was Master of Cerem-
onies for the evening speaking
briefly. Winners in the draw
were; First prize , girls or boys
bicycle - John Gross, Listowel;
second prize - Poloroid Land
Camera, Todd O'Brien, Sarnia;
third prize - boys or girls timex
watch, Cathy Kirk, Exeter.
Next big event in Hensall will
be the Hensall Kinsmen Ontario
Championship Fiddlers Contest
June 18-19. at the local arena.
