AWARD WINNER - Miss Barbara Dougall, R, R, 3, Exeter,
was the winner of the South Huron District Women's Instutute
award for Proficiency in Fashions at Centralia Agricultural Col-
lege this season, and is shown here with her plaque and Miss
Ruth Skinner, president of the group which donates the award
annually. Miss Dougall received the diploma from the 1-Iome
Economics course at Centralia, and is currently working for the
Huron School of Fashion in Exeter.

Mrs. Norman Coulthard cond-
ucted the election of officers,
and gave her report for the prov-
incial board, stating that there
are 51 branches in her sub -divis-
ion. The 75th anniversary of
FWIO will be celebrated by a
noon luncheon in Toronto on
Saturday, February 12, 1972,
and there will be a T , V, prog-
ram on Feb 19 or 20. She also
reported on various other items
of interest and closed her remarks
by saying "Let us be more inform-
ed and enthusiastic about our
Women's Institute."
Courtesy gifts were presented to 1
the retiring president and secret-
ary -treasure, Mrs. Delbert Geig-
er and Mrs. Newell Geiger, by
Mrs. W. D, Mack, and Mrs. Ed
Lamport, and courtesy remarks
extended by Mrs. Gilbert Johns,
of Elimville.

The weekend shower has fresh-
ened up the lawns and flower
gardens and our faithful gardiner,
Edwin Gardiner, is out every day
watering the shrubs and flowers.
I am sure most of our ladies are
aware of the May Day Tea to be
held on Saturday, May 29. from
1, 30 to 4.30 p.m. in the dining-
room of the Home. I know the
Auxiliary will appreciate your
presence.
Josef Risi, Administrator, spent
last week in Hamilton attending
the final seminar in administrat-
ion for Homes for the Aged.
We are pleased to welcome a
new resident, Rev. Josiah Mc-
Cauley of Port Elgin.

ings, entitled "A Christian in

We are grateful to Mrs. Beard-
sall, of the Exeter area for her
donation of money in memory of
a dear friend, and she has req-
uested that this money be used
for films for the residents. Our
residents look forward to their
bingo games every Thursday
evening.
The sympathy of the residents
and staff is extended to the fam-
ily of the late Mrs. Martha Ratz,
who passed away this week.
Rev. George Anderson of the
Exeter Anglican Church was in
charge of the Chapel service on
Sunday eyeing and was accomp-
anied by his wife and daughter,
who rendered special music. Mrs,
Maude May, who is residing here
and a member of the Exeter
Anglican Church, was most pleas
ed to have Rev Anderson and his
family in charge of the Chapel
service. 1 know our other resid-
ents are always very pleased
when the Minister from their
home church has charge of the
chapel service.
