WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
Grandmothers were guests
at the June meeting of Dashwood
Women's Institute. The Agricult-
ure and Canadian Industries group
was in charge with convener Mrs.
Emil Becker . A pot luck supper
started the evening, followed
by a business meeting with the
president, Mrs. Howard Maier,
in charge. Roll call was answer-
ed
nswered by giving a favourite mem-
ory of Grandmother. The guests
also participated. It was reported
$157.55 was collected for Red
Cross. Plans were made to
attend the District Annual May
20. Twelve ladies completed
the needlecraft short course with
Mrs. Madge Thompson leader.
Conveners of standing commit-
tees brought in their planned
programs for the year.
Exeter florist Mrs. Betty Frenct
assisted by Miss Joanne Burke,
demonstrated flower arrange-
ments and gave many tips to
the ladies. These were awarded
to the following grandmothers;
oldest, Mrs. Wes Wolfe (83);
newest, Mrs. Eben Weigand;
grandmother with the youngest
child, Mrs. Frank Mcisaac;
birthday nearest, Mrs. Lloyd
Rader; oldest grandchild, Mrs.
Henry Eagleson; most grand-
children, Mrs. 0. Todd.
Bunco rounded out the even-
ing with high prize going to
Mrs. Ernest Koehler, consolation
,prize, Mrs. Wes Wolfe.

led by Mrs. Eric Luther, I-Iensall,
,was followed by her message on
'"Faith". Rev. Bruce Guy said
,Grace prior to the ladies retir-
ing to the tea room.
The Sunday School rooms were
appropriately decorated with
daffodils, pussy willows, an
apron tree and a spring scene
painted by Rick Hayter, Dash-
wood. The tea table was spring -
BAPTISMAL SERVICE
Six children were baptized at
a service at Emmanuel United
Church, Zurich, marking Christ-
ian Family Sunday, on May 9.
Those receiving the sacrament
of baptism included Cameron
Blake Horner, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Horner; Mark Rich-
ard McAdams, son of Mr, and
Mrs. Donald McAdams; Robert
James McAdams, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Marvin McAdams; Barry

Brent Andrew O'Brien, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Donald O'Brien.
