ATTEND FESTIVAL
A number of interested par-
ents and music lovers attended
the Monday afternoon session of
the Mitchell Music Festival,
being held through this week.
George T. Veary, ARCO ARCM,
Hamilton, was the adjudicator
in Main St. United Church for
the piano classes. The following
marks were awarded pupils of
Miss Greta Laramie; piano solo,
grade six, Linda Thompson 79;
Dianne Baird 79; piano solo,
grade seven, Linda Bell 79,
Jo -Ann VanWerin, 80.
St, Paul's Anglican Church
School closed the years activities
on Sunday with an evening serv-
ice and Open House for parents
and friends. In place of the
sermon, the rector, Rev. G.A.
Anderson, conducted an old
fashioned type of oral examin-
ations of the pupils. The offer-
ing will go tb the World Relief
(hunger) Fund, After the service
the children served tea and
cookies for a social half hour.
Hensall Council Sets Tax Rate For 1971;

pair work had been done on the
drain behind Fuss's store; sand
taken off main street, trees
removed; ditch filled on Rich-

ission to obtain calcium chloride
and also to get a 10 foot post in
order to put the street signs up
that had been removed from the
hydro poles.
Council decided to ask Usborne
to grade the laneway to the
dump; to have a hole 'dug and
the garbage from Boise Cascade
buried at that company's exp-
ense; to put a load of gravel on
Mrs. Day's boulevard; to .allow
the Parks Board the use of a
tractor and trailer to clean up
the park; to start patching the
pot holes in the reads,
The dump will be open from
April 27, to October 30, on
Mondays from 3 p.m, to 8 p.m.
and on Saturdays from 8 a. m. to
1 p. m.
Two members, Baker and
Knight, were appointed to attend
the Midwestern Ontario Regional
Development Association meet-
ing held at Victorian Inn, Strat-
ford, on May 19, Four members
will attend the municipal offic-
ers Association at Londesboro,
May 18.

for the council chambers from
Hay Stationery, London. Counc-
il made arrangements to borrow
money for the PUC to build a
new sub -station.
Questions regarding the well
drilling brought out the inform-
ation that there is ample water
if the casing can be put down to
stop the caving in.

Mrs. T, J, Sherritt has returned
from a month's vacation in Flor-
ida, and visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Harold (Tim) Sherritt, in
Fort Lauderdale, and with rel-
atives in Flint, Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Orr receiv-
ed word that their son, Donald,
has been promoted to Master
Warrant Officer. Don is stationed
at Ottawa and resides there with
his wife, Margaret.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lindsay,
Pamela, Sheila, Kevin and Scott,
Ingersoll, Mr, and Mrs. Bryan
Underwood, Gorrie, spent the
weekend with Mrs. John Hender-
son,
