Mrs. Rufus Turnbull, a nurse on the staff of the Blue Water Rest Home delighted the resid- ents and Auxiliary members with her colorful pictures of Florida. Of special interest to the residents was a picture of her home here and several senior citizens homes she visited in Florida. Mrs. Turnbull was in- troduced and thanked by Mrs. Risi. An attractive Easter lunch was served by the committee. Mrs. Brisson presided for the business. Plans were made to sponsor a drive for funds to help the board of management of the Home purchase a van for the Home. Special projects to raise Money will be announced. from time to time such as a Tag Day at the Bean Festival. A May Ten and Bake Sale will be held at the Home on Saturday May 29. Items such as aprons, barbecue mitts, pot holders, jams and jellies, etc., will also be welcome for sale at this time. Family Night Movie will be held Thursday April 22. There will be a silver collection. About People Elmer Oesch returned home from St. Joseph's Hospital, Lond- on. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Foley and Lori Ann, of Lucan, and Miss Lillian Burke, of Toronto, spent the holiday weekend at the. home of Mr. and Mrs. William Witmer. We know the residents enjoyed having all of the visitors who were here over Easter, and join me in saying thank -you to the individuals and different organiz- ations who brought in all the beautiful Easter Lilies and other potted plants which added to their enjoyment. On Monday evening films were shown, "Upper Canada Village" and "Birds. Baboons, and other Animals." Following the films, the members of the Zurich Lions Club gathered in the dining room for a sing song. We would hope that they would make this visit not just an an- nual -affair, but that they would plan to come more frequently, in view of the enjoyment the residents derive from these visits, On Wednesday evening, the Ladies Auxiliary held their reg- ular monthly meeting in the Home. Mrs. Ruble Turnbull entertained the residents and Bluewater Bayfield News Easter Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Penhale were Mr. and Mrs. H. McCul- lough and sons, Robert, Steven, and Scott, of Holmesville; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bennett and daughters, Marlene and Joan, of Goderich' Mr. and Mrs. Tom Penhale, Ricky, Wendy, and Kathy McFadden, of Bayfield. Mr. and Mrs. William Scotch - mer and baby, William Wayne, of Hensall, spent Easter weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Scotchmer, on the Bronson Line. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dick, Hibbert, who with Mr. and Mrs. James Doig, Tuckersmith, were injured in a car -truck crash in Arkansas, two weeks ago, re- turned here Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Doig remained with their daughter in Sarnia and on Wednesday Mr. Doig was taken to hospital in London. All were admitted to .hospital following the crash which occur- red when a light truck approach- ing the Doig vehicle appeared to skid across the highway strik- ing it head on. Mr. Dick was released after two days, the others a short time before they flew to Detroit. Following the program, lunch was served. Mrs. Winnie Miles is presently a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital London, and we wish her a speedy recovery. The sympathy of the residents and staff is extended to the fam- ily of the late Mrs. Mary Stein- bach, who passed away last week in her 92nd year. On Good Friday evening, the combined choir of Blake and Zurich Mennonite churches pres- ented the Easter story in song and verse, much to the enjoy- ment of the residents. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. If anyone received Easter baskets with coloured excelsior, and have no further use for it, would you please save it for our craft room activities? Playing cards would also be appreciated. We are grateful to the family of the Late Mrs. Ellen Burney for the memorial gift of a port- able shower chair for use in the hospital wing. Rev. Andrew Blackwell, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich, had charge of the Easter Sunday evening chapel service. We regret the congregation was rath- er small due to the flu bug and a number of residents who were away visiting with their families. Don't forget our Family Night to be held April 22nd at 1;15 p.m. in the Horne. Everyone welcome.
